Random Rules Errata concerning blade spells

Because it matters...

Currently in the rule book there is an inconsistency with some language regarding blade spells...

Magic Blade is missing some language that Elemental and Earth blades have...

Basically, these blade spells can be cast upon you to have and hold like an endow... useable when you need it. Once you begin swinging "Earth/Chaos, Magic, (Element)", you have ten minutes left in which to do so, NOT from time of when you had it cast upon you.

Additionally, if your weapon is shattered, you can pick up another weapon and still keep swinging the carrier... it is NOT weapon specific as the book says, you are the target.

If you start a battle swinging normal and decide that ice elemental needs my flame now, you simply start saying "2 flame" on your next swing. Once you pick the element, you cannot change the element, but you can go back to normal and then back to flame in this example.

You can use any blade spell on claws or any weapon. (Ritual blade enhancements cannot be used on claws however.)

Hope this helps some folks.

Did this get changed again? I'm getting word from people that everything flipped back to "10 minutes from casting" not "usable when you need it" as noted in your ruling, the rulebook, and ARC clarifications. Just wanted to be sure of whether it's rumormill or reality.

For this event, we tried it out the "old way" with it being store-able then used when needed; now, however, we are moving to "10 minutes from casting" which is the intended method via errata from Mike Ventrella.

Where is this ruling posted, so I can reply accordingly?

Ruling was made by the owners from what Jesse stated. So it is locked up in some hidden forum section.

Edit: Sorry...that was a low-blow on my part and uncalled for.

Apology accepted. I am simply trying to comply with the rest of the Alliance and not go rogue on things I don't agree with.

Definitely not looking for rogue...but do still want to know where this ruling is, as there's nothing I'm finding in ARC that backs it and the latest PDF still shows has the wording that does not back this ruling. Plus, we still need an official "this is the current rule" rather than my paraphrased guess.

2009? So is that before the edition we're playing under? Very confused, since they've issued dozens of pdf updates...all with the typo...lol...

Shall I open a new ARC request?

Don't bother. That is the current edition and clarification. Their language is completely wonky but the clarification made above, and by Mac, is now official. 10 minutes from time of casting particularly important.
