Recycle Questions

When using Recycle, can you only break down items that correspond to the skill you have? Or can say, a Smith break down scrolls. Also, do the crafting materials created need to match the items broken down, or can they be any CM the character with Recycling chooses?
 
The items need to match a skill had by the character.

The CM returned need to match with the items being recycled.

Follow-up question. I thought you had to use Ability point from a craft to Recycle with it but the CMA did not allow more than one purchase of the skill. For example, I have 20 Ranks in Brewing and Inscription. If I take Recyleing in Brewing AP it is removed from the list in Inscription and Vice versa in the CMA. So does the one purchase allow use with any skill the character has bought a Crafting Batch for that logistics or is that a CMA bug?
 
Recycle is not specific to a particular crafting skill.

If you purchase recycle and have 10 Brewing and 10 Inscription, you are able to recycle eligible Adventuring Equipment items created by either of the two skills.
