Announcing the Public Chivalric Trial of His Excellency Baron Darius Rivervale for the Crime of Necromancy

During the July 418 gather of the Ducal Court in New Acarthia, Baron Darius Rivervale will be brought forward on charges of Necromancy and breaking of Code of Chivalry in the fifth tenet: wherein all acts expressly forbidden by Acarthian law are considered non-chivalric and unworthy of the title of nobility.

As such, the Trial will commence promptly at the first bell in the afternoon of that gathering on Saturday, July the twenty-first, in the public view in the New Acarthia Tavern Grounds, as available, and weather permitting.

Baron Rivervale’s good character is well known to the convening Paladins, to his peers, and to his subjects. However, given the circumstances of the subject matter, the paladins have elected to accept letters addressing these qualities prior to the trial itself. All letters, speaking on behalf of, or against the accused must be signed and dated by the attestee, and received three days in advance of the Trial, or will be summarily ignored.

His Excellency will have a total of forty-five minutes with which to make his defense, in-person, on the date of the trial. How he wishes to use that time is in his good hands, whether in testimony, speakers on his behalf, exhibits, or otherwise. His defense will not be allowed to continue beyond that time.

Once the defense is concluded, the paladins will adjourn to deliberate for no more than one half hour, after which judgement will be rendered, and punishment, if necessary, will be executed.

These proceedings will begin promptly at one bell, and conclude by three bells, such that those present may attend the Ducal Court at four bells without interruption.

The Paladins presiding over this trial are the right and honorable Sir Garret Kane - High Lord Magistrate of the Duchy of Acarthia; Sir Terry Warchester; Sir Nolan Barnett, all of the Ducal Court of Acarthia, each in good standing with the Order of Lucious.
