The ritual marshall should state "Resist" when this ritual is used and the tag should immediately be given to the ritual marshall. A target may have more than one Strengthen ritual cast upon it, but it counts towards the twenty ritual maximum.

This is the exact wording from the Seattle Database link. I just was trying to double check. A player decides if a Destroy Magic is resisted or not, right? Like, lets say you put resist destroy magic on a spirit, then (for plot reasons) you want a destroy magic to work and target something on the spirit. It will bypass it if the player chooses it to, like the way other resists work?

As per this line

Once ever, a target with this ritual may ignore the effects of a Destroy Magic ritual cast on the target. Once this ritual has been expended the rituals on the target may be removed as normal.

It seems you may choose not to expend it.

There's nothing in the verbiage that says its automatic, IIRC, but am not currently looking at the scroll text.

If its someone spirit or an item in someone's possession, they have discretion over the resist being used. Similar to having resist commands but allowing yourself to be slept.

I'd ultimately leave it up to local plot or marshals if the item being destroyed is plot-controlled.
