Riposte

What do you think of riposting a ranged weapon attack?
ie. Rocks, Tagged Thrown Weapons, Arrows, and Bolts.
I have no problem with the current rules as they are, and I'm not advocating a change.. I'm just curious as to what people think of being able to riposte an arrow attack from 40' feet away.
I've actually seen the following take place.
Me: PTD Eviscerate (with a bow)
EC JP: "Riposte"
Me: "Riposte"
EC JP: "Parry"
Third Party: "What the heck just happened?"
I just find it kind of weird, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one.

I do find it weird, but from a balance perspective I suppose it is a necessary evil. It is funky though.

Meh.

Its silly.

I think if you are going to allow it, it should only be possible if the riposteing party has a missle/ranged weapon in hand.

Otherwise, no.

I goes back to the same discussion of necessary IG rules being the same for consistancy, even if they don't make OOG sense.

It's obvious what just happened, you were just flicking an Arrow back and forth between you both! :D

The epic nature of such a thing must be lost on some people saddly... ;)

I consider riposting a range weapon something akin to what Xena did on her TV show. It's meant to give you the "OMG did you just see what she just did with that arrow?" kind of moment to the game. Consider it the fantasy portion of the Alliance game, that's how I see it.
