Rocks?

For rocks (as throwing weapons) how does one go about acquiring them IG? They are not on the merchant list (that I know of) and cannot be created via blacksmith (or are not listed as such).
Intuition tells me that if I want a rock, I show up to logistics with a phys. rep and ask for a tag, as rocks obviously aren't a difficult thing to find, but I don't want to make assumptions.

I believe they are tagged as Thrown Weapon, and can be made via blacksmithing.
This is correct. Peter uses them all of the time to great effect.

Nope, just show with them to have the weapon marshall check them out.
Pg 83
Rocks and Thrown Weapons must be soft
sculpted with no core material. They can be
dagger shaped, star shaped or any other shape.
The longest dimension cannot exceed 18 inches
and the smallest dimension must be at least 3
inches in diameter.
Rocks should be round or otherwise not
look like a fashioned weapon. There cannot be
any stiff corners or small protrusions on these
weapons. Because they can be odd sizes and
shapes, they must be approved on a case-bycase
basis.
These weapons can never be used as a
melee weapon in a fight; they must be thrown.
Rocks do not require weapon tags (other
than safety tags) and cannot be gathered during
a Hold.

A rock does only 1 point of damage. This
damage cannot be modified. A rock cannot be
used to deliver weapon skills, spells, blade effects,
poisons, arcane effects, ritual magic, or
monster abilities. Rocks are not considered
“weapons” for Shatter or Destroy effects.

That's the old rulebook.

A rock does only 1 point of damage. This
damage cannot be modified. A rock cannot be
used to deliver weapon skills, spells, blade effects,
poisons, arcane effects, ritual magic, or
monster abilities. Rocks are not considered
“weapons” for Shatter or Destroy effects.

This is no longer accurate. An errata recently categorized damage-rocks as thrown weapons. Rocks for purposes of thrown weapons are no different, systematically, than any other small throwing weapon. They require the appropriate tag, Blacksmithing PP, and are subject to any types of effects that would impact a normal throwing weapon.

So, there's really two kinds of rocks, "Waylay" rocks, and "Throwing" rocks. They have separate rules.

IGly speaking, if you pay for a rock, you're a damn fool. :p

It's ...a very sharp, highly aerodynamic...rock...

So are river stones. :D

...Yeah, but they don't have a Rockfax...always ask for the Rockfax...uh...
