Romani Rights

Listen im glad everyones glad that each other are glad to hear from and see and meet each other... but Lidd ya done kicked off a buzz of arguing about the darn gypsies...

the problem is... your basing your argumen on the "fact" that everyone is born with certain rights... the problem is.. .ain;t a single spirit here really agree with that notion. We ain't all equal... otherwise get in the kitchen and bake me dinner while I go hunt me some wyld boar... heck... while your at it...im gonna require people call me King Jara!.. aint make no sense... each person has its place and mine is where im at...

Heck most of us agree with ya, it ain't right the way a lot of folks outright hurt gypsies and all... I aint known for turning away hungry faces with coin... and most folk round here wont either and we don't like pickin fights with em... but then again... leaving people having to rely on the law when the gypo's wont care either way for it... seems kinda stupid to me and to a lot of folks.

My people have rarely been known to settle down in cities and towns, the road calls to us. For some the road is just that, the open roads of all countries. For others the open road is the boundless sea, or the mist capped mountain peaks, or the dunes of the endless desert. We are all destined to roam, but the question remains; are we moving toward something we're looking for, or moving away from something we'd rather forget?

As travellers we find it difficult to learn and adhere to all local laws for any village, shire or town we may pass through or stay near. For that reason many of us have not sought protection under any system of laws or single ruler.

I have encountered undead creatures in every land I have visited. I cannot say if these creatures were hunting my kind, or if I just happened to encounter them by chance. I know of the curse on my people here in Briarpass. It is true that the undead tend to plague all of my bretheren more in these lands than in any other. It is for that reason that we pose some threat to the people around us.

It is through no fault of our own that these creatures seek us out. Everything I've learned points to what Kevar has said, some force commands these abominations to hunt those with gypsy blood. Nearly every night I have fought some form of monstrosity. I have taken to seclusion, keeping distance from those I care about to keep them safe. I have had run in's with members of gypsy free wayside, though they know me by reputation and have elected to keep things civil. I promise the gfw to keep moving, I wish to bring no harm to them or their families, simply by being of romani blood.

The source of this curse must be found and must be expunged. I have few resources left to commit to this effort but I will do what I can for those who will root out the source of this plague.

In good faith,
Tobar Diklo Rudari

Jar, yer hoors might be uppity, but you's gotta point. I never lived nowheres but here and nothin' I ever seen makes it look like I's got anything goin' fer me but what I can scrounge outta my sheeps. Blood and fire, I betcha anythin' that if my sheeps got the croupe or mange and died, Hitch 42 would happily take my farm and I'd be in the copper mines faster you could blink. There ain't nothin' there 'bout birth rights, just what I can do to keep the guilds happy and my land mine.

Liddy, yer a cute lass, but til you live like us commoners, don't be tellin' me you know my lever from a lampost.

Kevar, you speak wisely on this matter, and Liddia, you have my support.

Last time I checked Jara didn't have whores, he has servants, help, or wenches. Those who work for him do because he pays us well and shows us respect for working hard in his tavern, and he does not run a brothel.

If everyone involved in this conversation would like to come in and have a pint this marketday, and discuss rights in Wayside that would be nice. Especially, if we all put our heads together and worked on finding a way to lift this curse since I've seen no disagreement on the part of that needing to be done away with.

Is that alright, Jara?

Millie,

I have no problem with anyone comming down to the place and having a pint while they sort out their differences and work on making long lasting solutions. I wont be denying adventurers the right to refreshment and the warmth of my hearth ever. I owe you all that much if not more.

The pints ,however, come out of your pay. :)

Jara

PS. Your right, I do respect my staff and I've come to think of em as family. I don't take kindly to folks intimating otherwise...Millie ya keep serving the food to everyone... wether its in a bowl... or on their head when you serve em... welll thats up to them and you. I trust your judgement.

But, I's be glad to come on down, drink yer ale and talks 'bout this here curse dilly. Sheeps are bedded down fer the win'er, and a body gits mighty thirsty nights.
