Romani Sing Along Time!

Hey folks-

So, I was doing some thinking, and I realized that, well, since there will be a couple Rom (and Rom-friendly folks!) at upcoming events, there should be more singing and dancing! This means we'd need to have some common songs. I did some digging and found some online sheet music for four traditional Romani melodies, along with Youtube versions of both the songs and some folks dancing to them as an example:

I sing and play the clarinet, and I plan to learn all four songs both ways for the May event. Would anybody like to join me? :) I'd love some guitar (and Heidi, I seem to remember a violin in the Healers Guild!) and other folk instruments. Come on, what's more fun than dancing and singing around a fire? (Well, I suppose putting down your instruments and putting a few gnolls in their place, but still-!)
 
unfortunately not playing the right character the next event for that.
 
No worries, there will be plenty of singing-time when Luka is around, haha! :D
 
I think we created a monster, hasn't even been a week that you decided to make a rom and you have seemingly put a ton effort into it, killer costume by the way
 
How come only "Rom" get to sing? Can't boringly-dressed humans also sing?

boring? eric that sparkly white shirt ivan has is less than boring. it's sparkly! sparkly makes all things better.. just ask my golem...
 
This is awesome!... I can't hold a tune in a bucket.. but Grim will mumble through whatever...ohh.. dwarven drinking songs
 
um, Eric I take it then Ivan is not Rom friendly? she did say rom friendly folks may join in.....

Also, Ivan's wardrobe was not boring after it was charred by the dragon while Ivan was wearing it....

Ivan has a rom sounding name, so he should be fine
 
The violin is Meghan's she plays it when she plays her Rom. I don't know the next time she'll be playing it is.

As for the whole sing along thing...Maybe next year when I come back. I wont be able to learn the songs over here unless some one sends a cd to me with them on it. But I would love to learn them and sing and dance when I come home. I can't wait to meet the new Romani!!!
 
I am sure meg won't mind bringing wynter out for the event to play the violin...... :lol: ;)

Give me a few years and the motivation to seek out a teacher and I'll play violin. I have the damn thing; I just need to get off my arse and learn it. ;P Until then I'll just do a little jig on such occasion.

I can teach you if you own you'r own. Yes, the violin in the Healer's guild is mine. If NPC camp will spare me, I will play for you. I know a few of my own tunes you can dance to as well. ^_^
