Ruki sat back down after the archmage delivered the message that the adventurers were heading back west, towards the Lux. The frontal assault against the Dark Reaches would be put on hold for another year or two while the fort was being constructed. While he had just been at the Lux just a few hours prior (thanks to Proctors and rifting), the news made Ruki feel...uneasy? Disappointed? He wasn't quite sure how to word it, but going back to the Lux just felt wrong for him.
Staying with the caravans and constructing the fort was well out of his wheelhouse, skills wise, and just heading home to do nothing felt wrong. Ruki finished his drink and headed back top the inn to try and sleep on his problem. But sleep did not come, unfortunately. Thankfully though, it did give him a plan of attack...there were many loose ends in his life, both on a personal and grander scale, that could be tied up. Reuniting with his wife and son properly. The Elementgnolls. His forest, in which he was the guardian.
All of these needed his attention...and this was the perfect time to do so.
Ruki wrote letters to his dearest and closest friends explaining what he would be doing. Elwynd, Kumari, Percy, Billin, Kai, Xamot, Asling, his friends in the Arcane Sanctum, and even one for Siegart...should they meet on the road one day. He would hate to say goodbye, but it was something that he needed to do. Thankfully, he did mention where he was heading first and would occasionally update them on where he would be. Before first light Ruki delivered the messages to the rooms of his friends and headed to the stables, leaving Kelech'Mor behind.
