Rule Book cover blurb

Anyone got any experience in writing promotional stuff? We need to put a blurb on the back of the Rule Book (like we have in the current book) but I'm no expert at this kind of stuff.

What is it you want it to say? Basically the same information that is in the current blurb, or do you have certain key points you want made within the body of the statement?

Pretty much what's in the current one plus a mention that the new book also has tabletop rules. I dunno, something exciting.

For general opinion (be gentle :D )

For over a decade, Alliance LARP has been at the forefront of Live Action gaming. With a clear and concise rule system so grounded in fundamentals new players can grasp it at once and yet rich enough to allow game masters grand vistas of imaginative game play. We've developed an inclusive system that allows chapters around the country to run within their own vision without the need for rules variances. Plus, we've adapted them to be usable in a tabletop setting and included that system within these pages, a truly unique innovation in the genre! No matter who you want to be, your fantasy awaits within...

Remember to "Be all that you can't be" ;)

yeah i always liked that line "be all that you can't be."

I would also recommend in it putting somehthing about people traveling across many states regularly to attend games, so to let people just looking at it to highly consider attending one even if they don't live within a 1-hour driving zone.

When I first started looking into you guys, it took me a few reads to realize that that wasn't just an old slogan for the US Army.

Actually, can we please, please drop the "Be all you can't be" thing? I've always thought it was super cheesy.

I always liked it; it's a clever twist and I've not seen a better one. I'm tired of variations I have seen in other games: "The Adventure Begins!" "Live the Fantasy!" "Be Your Dream!"

Sorry, Mike, but it is true that the only times I've ever heard anyone comment on that slogan it's always "Isn't that the Army?" How about:

Who do you want to be today?
or
Don't just dream your whole life, live your whole dream!
or
Put down those dice and pick up that sword, game on!
or
Living the dream, one weekend at a time!
or
Adventurers wanted, no experience necessary, apply within!

Of those, only the first one I find short enough to occupy the same role as "Be all you can't be", though I do like most of them as statements.

I want to clarify that once I realized the difference, I found it a mildly clever twist on a familiar phrase. No big reaction either direction. I just wanted to make sure that my previous comment wasn't interpreted as a vote against.

If you want a song title reference, I prefer Queen's "Who wants to live forever?"

The catch phrase that people liked for my game was "Leave the dice at home!" but I don't have an issue with the current slogan.

of coarse this would make ritual casting very hard.

Hmm, how's about - "Doing the impossible, just for the fun of it!"
