Thanks everyone for a great weekend! Still recovering, but here's my list....
1) Dorian (?? Not 100% sure of the name - If I'm wrong, sorry, hey, I'm gettin' old) the dwarf's epic waylay line in the Saturday Galanthian battle. A gorgeous in field display of my #1 favorite skill in this game. In all my years of LARP'ing, I've never witnessed it done quite so well.
2) Same, battle, almost same location. Turning around and seeing Larien standing behind a flank of immobile Galanthians calming snapping their necks. It wasn't even so much the action, which frankly is an incredibly personal way to administer a killing blow, but the "matter of factness" in her expression. What a juxtapostion to the normally bubbly lady that I had always seen. Mouse agrees with Qualin, she is made of tough stuff.
3) Human plot!! So satisfying on many levels. I still have a feeling that something is going to come back and bite us on the butt, but I feel really good about the way we all just got the job done. Mouse REALLY didn't want to leave her people in that situation. Great RP with Mike with Azur Dune (sp?)'s regret speech.
4) The team. We really did have great chemistry this weekend, didn't we? From unintentionally coordinating goody flavors, to "grown up Larping" to the battles, to the RP, to well, seems to be just about everything.
5) Qualin the Jester. I can't wait to find the perfect hat(s) for you.
Last but not least. Lochaber in the last cyrpt "mod". The whole time everyone else was talking, I just kept thinking "This is such a damn shame". Since eavesdropping on him last fall, every time I hear him speak, I keep trying to think of what could be said to make him see the light, so to speak. The honor Mouse saw in him is part of why she keeps being drawn into Galanthian plot. She can't quite excuse the vampirism, but she so wishes things could have been different. Scott, your portrayal of this complex character has always been masterful, and his end was no less so. I applaud you.
As always, there's more, but that's it for now..
See you in Oct.
