Small Weapons

From ARB:
"This skill allows the character to wield any
small weapon, which includes bludgeon, dagger,
hatchet, or any other small (between 20 and
24 inches) close combat weapon."

Does this mean I can use a 22 inch short sword with the small weapons skill?

According to the rulebook, page 82, a short sword has to be a minimum of 25" so one that is 22" isn't, by the rulebook, a short sword but a dagger. I also believe that somewhere it mentions that the maximum length of a weapon is actually JUST under the maximum length listed. That is to say an edged weapon that is exactly 25" long is actually a short sword (1 handed edge) and not a dagger.

/\ this, if you hit the exact maximum for a weapon it is sized up. Small Weapon only covers daggers and under.
