Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

The Southern Minnesota Staff is proud to announce a revolution in our event fee system. Having reviewed the statistics from running the game the past four season, it has become abundantly clear that some players prefer to simply play the game at its most basic level, while others would be happier with a premium experience. In the past we’ve be restricted by having all players pay the same pricing, well no more! Starting in the 2012 season we will now be offering an exciting new model that allows you to pay only for the portions of the experience you enjoy!

Here is how it works!

Basic Play (Free!) – That’s right no cost at all! Basic Play comes with all the below!

- Attendance to site
- Outdoor sleeping space
- Bread and Water food plan – Just what it says, we’ll provide both!
- Many exciting modules available to play!
- Event XP, and build tracking.
- Multiple events on the same character! (As many as 12, as each free 2 play character takes a single death at the end of each event)

We’ll be continuing our membership system, with all silver members receiving half their remaining time as VIP players and gold members receiving their remaining time as a VIP member.

Benefits of VIP play – Starting at $39.95 a Month, VIP play comes with many additional benefits!

- Indoor Sleeping Areas!
- Meal Plan – tasty meals cooked up for you by our staff!
- VIP only Modules, Visit kings, fight dragons!
- Monthly Blanket tracking – Extra Experience each month!
- VIP Looting, Show your badge to a vanquished opponent and you might get extra loot!
- Character longevity! No automatic deaths applied.

But that’s not all! Whether you are a VIP, or a basic player, there are a number of ala’cart options you can add to enhance your game playing experience! You can either set up an account with logistics, or purchase ‘SoMN Semolians’ for use during the game, just hand the appropriate amount to the marshal to activate your bonus!

Ala’cart options.

$25 – “Sudden Friendship” - A non-“boss” level monster or NPC becomes fascinated with you to the point of desiring to help however possible. Warning! This love is fleeting and will last no more than 2 days, and no less than 1 hour, depending on the strength of the npc.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

Will these need to be purchased at the beginning of the event at logistics or can things be purchased during a game? And on an unrelated note does anyone know what the going rate organs are these days?

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

Gorka's Heirloom would be a partialy eaten chicken bone that her great uncle was chewing on when a piece got lodged in his thout, but he was able to hack it up with his powerful lungs, he lived the rest of his life believing that it baned death, but it really only has an endow on it.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

What organs are we talking about? Cause I know a lung could easily go for about 2-3 thousand dollars, assuming you don't smoke. And it looks like some of those are pay as you use them. Although I'd recommend bumping up the price of a Rebirth, as no one would pay 10 dollars for the double bleed/death timer when they can just get a rebirth for 5 dollars. I'd say make the rebirth the same price as the strengthen spirit.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

I do have a question.
Is this in addition to the 50 dollars event fee?
Or is it the event fee?
Thanks.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

Looks at date...

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

Never paid for an organ, always just used a gift card.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

I second the question.... Does this replace the event fee? or is that option still available? I don't want to take an immediate death at the end of every module and I can't afford to pay a monthly charge.

Re: Southern Minnesota Goes Free to Play!

Anyone who's actually worried about this should check the date... ;) Also, if it were serious, "free-to-play" would mean that you don't have to pay the normal event fee.
