As promised it has been done! The Alliance Southern Minnesota staff is proud to invite you to join us at Camp Parker in Nisswa, Minnesota for a full out castle siege on April the 1st of 2011! While we don't want to give to much away, the siege will feature a multi-stage battle including breaching the exterior wall, and a fight for the castle section by section against a determined, and disciplined foe. Of course after the siege there is plenty of wilderness territory to explore and things to discover, and our plot team is hard at work making sure there is plenty to discover!

The Camp Parker Castle Features the Following
1.) Large courtyard surrounded by a castle wall with walkway.
2.) Underfloor heating - Keeps you warm all event!
3.) Full bathrooms, with multiple heated showers!
4.) Two full Barracks each with room for 32 heads. (one can be seperated into two 16 bunkers)
5.) Four Private Bunk rooms with 4 Bunks each (We'll likely be offering up to three of these for extra rent if you'd like a bit of privacy for your group stay tuned!)
6.) A Massive Mess Hall with the most complete Kitchen we've had yet!
7.) Multiple inside areas fit for combat, even larger scale (including a massive basement area.
8.) A Few other suprises!
9.) Well lit, safe, and as in period as you can get with all of the above.

Of course this Event is a bit of a gamble for the Southern Minnesota game and we hope to have the turn out to justify using this most excellent site again in the future! In game plot lines will begin in January to encourage local players to reach out across their network of allies for help in this assault, with our newly increased build cap of 255 more characters then ever can make it through the mists!

w00t CASTLE!!!!!!!!

I *may* come back to do tavern for this event given that they have a full industrial kitchen with granite countertops!

Now for the decision, do I play my DE as planned for next year, or my fighter...decisions decisions :D

Look at this guy.... he's worse than Favre!

"I'm done, no im not, im done no I'm not..." :)

On who you should play, I love DureDhel but i sure as heck could use my accomplice McGregor for all sorts of nefarious works.

I'm so there. Hopefully my bretheren for the Brotherhood will be, too...

For those who may want to fly in for this event, can you recommend an airport, please?

As most of Dave's game lives in and around the twin cities, I would look for airport code MSP when doing searches.

From there it will be all about arranging a ride or renting a car.
Its still a few hours away from an airport but im sure folks are happy to help ferry folks to and fro to make it the biggest event of the year.

Alternatively if your up for one heck of a road trip and have plenty of time, someone from Chicago could most likely get you from ORD or MDW and drive you the what... 10hrs?

serriously where is this site Daver?

Apparently its by Brainerd. I've never been to Nisswa but I lived on Mille Lacs so I'm somewhat familiar with the surrounding area. I might be willing to do a ride as the game gets closer. At the very least I could probably offer the couch in my tiny apt if someone needs to arrive early or leave late.

MSP is the best airport for fly ins (Minneappolis/st.paul international) Let us know you are coming so we can divvy up the rides and such.

It's still very early to tell if we're going to make it or not, but the more I know, the better we can plan...IF we go, there may be as many as 13 of us. Anyone able to get us a good group flight rate? :)

Oh god yes, do want. I will BE there, no matter what my employers say.

Being at an actual castle is helping as a tipping point to get some fence-sitting friends of mine to finally try out LARPing!

Yay! So excited for this!

Once it gets a bit closer to the event I will know more but ya, I'm sure me and my two friends will be there to defend it from the raving PCs.

WOW!! a castle that could be quite an interesting event! depending what my situation is at the time,i'll definately try to get there .

I believe some or all of the "Duluthians" will be attending this event. It's a fraking castle!

Wonko the sane?! I met you my first event and never saw you agian, good to see you agian =P

Hey Guys,

If a group of us from Chicago take the train in, can we get crash space and a ride up to the event? I am more than happy to cover gas and snacks for the rest of the drive and we are willing to get split up into smaller groups to help people with space but it would save us a huge drive and be a lot of fun.

Let us know if your able to help

Paul

I'm sure at a minimum I can have plenty of crash space (couch and air mattresses on the floor) although I'll need help getting you all to the site ^.^

Seeing as I won't have a car full of tavern stuff, I can help drive some peeps on up to the site, I'll bring my Tribeca, which means that I can take an additional 3 comfortably with gear.
