Spirit, Body, dead bodies, and Entangle madness!

Entangle is listed as an effect "On the Body" and not "On the Spirit." As such, Entangle doesn't go away when you are Dead.

If someone has picked up a Dead body and is moving with it, and the body is struck with an Entangle, how many people (and which) are Entangled? Is it the Dead body alone (since they can still be subject to an Entangle that was on them before they died, though it's not expressly clear that they can become Entangled after they're already Dead), the person carrying them (per the recent ARC ruling that they are a normal possession), or are both people Entangled in some kind of "Man I wish we hadn't started differentiating between Effects on the Body and Effects on the Spirit" hybrid?

This post is to inform you that your question is currently being discussed by the ARC and once some clarification has been made will be posted here. Depending on the level of clarification and discussion (and potential involvement of the Owners or other national staff, if needed) this may take time.

To enforce consistency and eliminate confusion, ARC would like to clarify the following. The text on page 90 of the 1.2 Alliance Rulebook states:

All of your active spells, alchemical substances, and other effects will immediately disappear once you are dead. The only effects that survive death are Gypsy Curse, Vampire Charm, Amnesia, Enslavement, Entangle, Euphoria, Love Potion #9, Paste of Stickiness...

Vampire Charm, Entangle, and Paste of Stickiness should be removed from this list. Please note that this means that all remaining effects which survive death are either (a) ritual based, (b) Greater Commands, or (c) unique racial-based abilities (such as Gypsy Curse or Curse of Transformation in some cases). A corollary to this clarification is that the only effects which can target a dead body are those which (a) explicitly target one (Life and Create Undead) or (b) rituals which explicitly target a spirit (such as Shatter Spirit).
