I grew up watching The Hobbit and Flight of Dragons repeatedly, and to this day, I can recite The Hobbit film in its entirety (and its soundtrack is the most played thing in my iTunes, with some songs passing the 300 plays point, I kid you not). Sure, it doesn't put me in a non-geeky light, but it's the truth. (It should be noted that the DVD version of the film has like 70% of the sound effects removed, so the VHS version, with all its sound goodness, is the way to watch it.)zehnyu said:Rankin-Bass is also a personal favorite.
The Last Unicorn, the Hobbit, The return of the king, and flight of dragons. Their animation may be a completely differnt style, but I always appreciated the details...
and you know, Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer and all their other stop motion wasn't bad either.

I heart Flight of Dragons in a major way.Gandian Ravenscroft said:I grew up watching The Hobbit and Flight of Dragons repeatedly
He's no sorcerer; he's a man of science. But yes, he does get dragon'd.RavenSis said:Is Flight of Dragons the animated movie where a sorcerer gets turned into a dragon?
It was always my favorite too. Amusingly I didn't realize the reason I liked it so much until I watched it with Brynne, and the light bulb went on. She is the nerd's princess.Michiko said:The movies you listed, while awesome, do not have a heroine with which I strongly identified as a bookish, outcast, brunette, adolescent girl and are therefore inferior to Beauty and the Beast.
