I'm having troubles with uploading avatars (as in, can't do it at all) am I just not looking hard enough for an "upload button" or is it link only?

It has to be hosted on a web page and not on your comp like the old board was.

I use black pearl and I find that it takes a few seconds (20 or so) to finish loading the page when I go into a spefic topic.

Helps us avoid the possibility of someone uploading a virus.

There are plenty of free picture hosting websites around -- you can upload your picture there and then just link to it.
