Citizens of Gavaria,

As many of you have come to learn, His Grace Vladislav Noktavich, Duke of Passwall, has met his permanent death. This is heartbreaking news for us to hear as a nation. While many have long assumed His Grace had permanently died, it is nonetheless tragic to hear confirmation of the event. His Grace's body was recovered from his estate in Noxfell by the forces of Count Tanno, the information of Count Tillbane, and the bravery of the Adventurers of Atupal. His body was taken to Atupal, the Crown was notified, and shortly thereafter, Sir Euron Gavar arrived in Atupal to return the late Duke’s body to Rosen, where he has since remained.

After due investigation and appropriate preparation, the Crown, aided by Veronica Silver, Royal Court Healer and Speaker of the Dead, are ready to perform a Spirit Farewell upon the late Duke in the Royal Palace in Rosen.

The Ritual will commence promptly at 9 Bells in the Morning on the Twenty-Eighth day of the Tenth month of the Five-Hundred-Twenty-Third year of the Gavarian Calendar and continue for as long as the Speaker of the Dead is able to maintain his spirit within this world. Stragglers are welcome to file in after the proceedings have begun, and given the common breakfast timeframe, foodstuffs are permitted. For those who choose to attend, please remember to be conscious of the nature of the event and maintain appropriate social decorum for the occasion.

The first portion of the Spirit Farewell shall be made public to any who wish to hear the late Duke’s final words, but open discussion with the Duke will not be permitted from the general populace. However, as special thanks to the Adventurers of Atupal for their crucial role in recovering his body, their community shall be permitted to participate in the conversation for a time as proceedings allow. Once deemed appropriate by the Crown, discussion with the Duke will shift to more private matters of state, and the general populace - including Adventures of Atupal - will be required to leave the premises.

Thank you,
- Kingsley Rutherford, Royal Scribe, on behalf of Queen Pavia Gavar
