Re: Tournament Details

Rufus,

May I recommend the restriction on silence as well? This spell is available to earth casters only, providing them with a bit more versatility than celestial casters would be allowed, as all of the remaining spells are shared by both types.

Re: Tournament Details

Per Zeth's request, silence has been removed. That was an oversight on our part. We intended to only allow spells that both schools had access to. Apparently I need to bone up on my study of the celestial spell tree.

Oh, and by the way. Rufus has nothing to with this tournament other than renting the land to us.

If there is concern about inequalities, perhaps it should be noted that those who are inclined to the martial aspect of adventuring would be unable to participate in the Sorcerer's Challenge given the restrictions imposed, which leaves an entire test that many people will simply be unable to compete in, while anyone who can pick up and wield a blade (including those who can cast spells or even cast rituals) can participate in the contest of dueling with no discernible advantage or disadvantage.

My point is that if we sit and squabble about various inequalities, this grand venture may never happen as intended. We are made stronger through adversity and learn more of ourselves and our fellows through adversity, so why not meet the inequality with tact and strength instead of fussing over minutiae?

Further, I am speaking in general terms, I am not suggesting that Zeth (or anyone else) is weak or frail or even 19 feet tall. The tournament organizer is free to do as he would, I am merely speaking my opinion.

In service,
Sir Avaran

For a second there when I saw that it was Gabe posting I was expecting Sam to be competing

Excellent. More and more people are signing up every day. This will certainly be a grand and entertaining event. If you know someone who is attending and they have not signed up for events yet, please encourage them to do so. Also, if you would like a seat more fancy than the ground, bring a chair. Water will be provided and I am not sure if it is too late but Mr. Silverleaf will be cooking food for coin (OOG: see here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6895).
