Dear Alliance Community,
As part of Alliance LARP’s ongoing efforts to improve game balance, the skill Eviscerating Blow has been officially removed from the rules and will be replaced with a new skill, Taunt Strike (see this post for details). This will be a direct 1:1 replacement, with all character cards in the CMA being automatically updated tomorrow (December 1st).
We recognize that not all players will want Taunt Strike on their character card. To support players affected by this change, we are offering a limited Spirit Temper option for existing characters who have purchased Eviscerating Blow. Players may request their character receive a Spirit Temper only if the following conditions are met:
A few notes on how Spirit Temper works:

- Your character had Eviscerating Blow on their card as of November 30th, 2025, and still has one or more instances of Taunt Strike at the time you submit your request.
- You have played that character at no more than one event after December 1st, 2025.
- All instances of Taunt Strike should be removed from your card as a part of the Spirit Temper.
A few notes on how Spirit Temper works:
- While under the effects of a Spirit Temper, you will be able to unpurchase skills from your card one-by-one. This functions similarly to skill sellbacks, except it will not cost you goblin stamps. There will be a big red marker on your card that says “Spirit Temper Active”. Clicking any of your purchased skills will show options for removing the skill or ending the Spirit Temper.
- A Spirit Temper allows you to unspend up to a total of 100 XP from your character card. Clicking any skill will show you how much of this XP pool you have remaining.
- Due to skill prerequisites, you may need to temporarily remove other skills to keep your card valid during the process.
- You may end the Spirit Temper at any time, after which you may purchase new skills or re-purchase old ones using the XP you recovered.
- You must complete the Spirit Temper and end it before the next event you intend to play. Characters cannot be played while still under the effects of a Spirit Temper.
Best wishes,
