Waylay Questions

Sorry for all the questions I have ,but what is a waylay tip and what is waylaying ?I have not had an opportunity to try LARP yet but am going to see what it is all about on the 24th of may. Much of the terminology of LARP is unfamiliar to me but from the many,many posts I have read it sounds great ! So to reiterate what is waylaying and what is a waylaying tip....thank you in advance to all answers !

Waylay is a purchased skill where you use the butt of the weapon to tap an unsuspecting person from behind (shoulder region) rendering them unconscious. The waylay tip is a boffer tip (like the end of your sword), that you use to "knock someone out."

To be a bit more descriptive - a waylay tip and a thrusting tip are soft foam ends on the weapon replicas of at least 2" diameter and 2" thick.
