Great idea! Nice way to get around the religious issue for tarot. You could probably also just fake a reading--since no real tarot reading could be for a fictional character anyway. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, guys. I didn't even think about RL health issues popping up due to limping--I'll have to rework the idea. I do like the concept of an immobile arm, though. Pretty similar. But maybe something else is better for an ongoing disability? I'll ponder it.

I think a pacifist character could have a lot of great roleplay, but you'd need to find your line and really stick to it. Do you heal allies that will then go fight more? Do you heal enemies? If you bind/pin an enemy, are you implicit in their destruction by your allies? Could be some amazing...

I would avoid tarot IG. If as an NPC I was forced to interact with a PC who tried to get me to use tarot, I would either play it so I got out of it ("I can't touch those cards! I'll destroy the magic!" "Pssh what could a card know about the future?" etc) or I'd go OOG to say I was uncomfortable...
