I love seeing those show up occasionally as my primary - a Baron out in Andar. He considers them forgeries and generally confiscates them to protect "real" coinage from dilution.

As long as its not an alliance player doing it...shouldn't be much of a problem.
Are you certain people who work at the token mint don't play?Gilwing said:As long as its not an alliance player doing it...shouldn't be much of a problem.

Working at the place is different then calling me up at my house and I sell you the coins that I make.

Because it could be considered 'counterfeit' or simply not a trusted source for the actual metal (fake coins and such). If this wasn't the case, I have about 300gp worth of old NERO coins that I could throw into the mix.
I would imagine that an actual stamped coin design would need to be approved by the local plot group before it would be allowed into the system. Now, other chapters could also decide that this is a recognized and accepted form of currency OR they could decide that it isn't. You could have some interesting times having to change out your money for local currency in order to simply get a drink at a new place.
However, before this was to happen though, a standard 'mark' should be decided upon to make it an Alliance coin - even somthing as simple as an "ALC" located in the design somewhere. Since the 'face' of the coin (the numbers) are a standard design from the mint, you could theoretically get another standard design from that mint, make a bunch and really screw up economy.
Trust me, I would have no issue with dropping the money on a new stamp with my character's name and image on it - and having plot hold onto the coins and let me swap them out with coin I find in game.
