Hello Everyone! It was great to see all of you for our second game, and I had a ton of fun running this event for all of you. Below are some of my favorite moments from the weekend, in order of when my brain recalled them to the forefront of my memory as I wrote this:
-------------------------------
- During the Friday night undead fight, when the town got split between fighting inside and fighting at the front door, after a few minutes someone poked their head out and said, "There are undead inside attacking the villagers!" to which Zihr responded with, "There are undead out here too!" The person (who I couldn't quite see) brazenly said, "Well, maybe you could back up a little bit, in case we need you." Standing with their backs to the door, Zihr responded with, "Where would I back up to?"
- The check-up on the archeologists had a lot of great moments that left me muffling some chuckles. The insisting from the PCs that they were here to give new orders to the archeologists to come back to the capital, and the arguing over who had authority to tell them to leave. The eventual realization that the men were all enslaved, and the look of surprise when the fighting broke out, one of the archeologists gets webbed, and proceeds to rip free of the binding. "A human ripping free of binding?!?" The shock and horror when, as they began to escort the incapacitated archeologists back to town, when one of them suddenly drops dead. "Don't move them, we're not trying to kill them."
- "When will Evoder get here?" "How shortly is shortly?"
- The Oathsworn meeting went very smoothly, and it was obvious that everyone who had been told what customs to expect from the Oathsworn had taken it to heart. Fiona and Edwina were constantly making efforts to attend to the Minister and Ambassador's needs, and Zen brought up a few questions for the Oathsworn, but when they changed the subject, she didn't press further. The respect shown to the foreign dignitaries was impressive and appreciated.
- During the pirate raid, I overheard someone yell out, "THIS IS A RAID!" at about the point that they were half-way to completing their goal. Yup, glad we confirmed that these people raiding our island are indeed raiding us.
- I am constantly surprised (as obviously I shouldn't be) at how quickly people pick up the goal during the vault missions. Kudos to Sid (tpo Beryl) for figuring out that the PCs needed to step in and act in the scene, before we even had the NPC prompt for it.
- "Hold!" I unplug the lights for the circle of power. Immediately someone says, "Oh, I don't like that."
- All of the PCs that got possessed did a really good job of fighting under their possession. Might be some pent up aggression, but seeing Mint beat down Edwina was really good.
- I have to give kudos to the late Saturday orb mod group. They got confronted with a very challenging orb, and they took it in stride and kept pushing towards the finish line. The six or seven Paralysis/Prisons that got dumped into the orb holders was a lot, but was ultimately what made it successful.
- A certain someone standing mouth agape for quite a period of time. I'm glad they liked the surprise, and I look forward to surprising them again in the future.
- Late night Dragon calls. "We're just filled with bad ideas tonight." But congratulations to Zen on your first successful ritual casting!

I look forward to seeing all of you again in a month's time!
