By the Hand of the Ordo Aurum

Let it be known that Ulthoc Crownsmith, Baron of Nordenn, shall be stripped of his Knighthood and his Baronial Coronet for his decision to engage in a deception of the Barons and Knights of Ashbury and also for his decision to aid a Galanthian Senator.

It is because of Ulthoc’s decorated history of good deeds that the Ordo Aurum has not sentenced Ulthoc to death. It is also unlawful for any to murder Ulthoc after this sentencing, regardless of his boasts to accept an execution.

The ends do not justify the means for any of the peerage. If we are to keep the Code alive in this trying age, we must not trample it with ill interpretation.

Against Evil Without Cessation,

Dame Rose Brewer
Grand Paladin of the Ordo Aurum
Steward of Cil Cilurion

If by aid you mean destroy a vampire form and kill the man 6 times, then yeah, your right on.

Its always good to know that trying to do the right thing for the most people is meant with such understanding. Kinda glad I don't remember my years of service, less you come for me next.

Amaranthus Landcharmer
Brittington Knight, temporarily relieved of service due to amnesia.

There are always times when the ends justify the means. There will always be sacrifice. I have let a child walk into death's arms so I could save an entire town. I have lied to my friends and told truths to my enemies. I have tortured. I have murdered. Does this make me a bad person? Yes. Do I feel guilt? Yes. But it is the choice I have made in order to save more and save many.

The world we live in is no longer black and white: the more you force your citizens and nobility to exist in the extremes, the weaker you make yourselves to your enemies and the more it will be used against you. Your enemies know the code as well as you do.

The code asks you to fight evil without cessation. It doesn't tell you about the cost. I suppose Ulthoc's learned it.

- Sevaria of Goshawk

Sevaria of Goshawk,

Yes, our way is difficult and rigid.

However, it cuts the wheat from the chaff.

If your people had had the strength to lead by example your kingdom might still consist of more than a few wheat fields and commoners cowering around earth circles.

Everywhere and Always,
Sir Tyler Balloch
Paladin of the Ordo Aurum
Champion of Cil Cilurion

You have no idea of what you speak, but you will learn. You mock people who you know nothing of who have faced horrors you can not fathom. So glad am I that my Queen broke ranks from such as you. A royal knight with no King or Queen who fancies himself judge of all. King Buchard was an ally of the people of Eire. I loved His Magesty, that much I remember. You disgrace his memory with tour insults.

You are challenged, Sir Tyler Balloch, to combat at the festival of blades, to the resurrection. I await your response. You will learn.

Amaranthus Landcharmer

Sir Tyler Balloch,
I invite you to visit the kingdom of Saddeen Moore whenever you may have the time. You may witness first hand how a kingdom willing to make true sacrifice has survived the dead lands, absent any earth circle at all. We're even our "cowering commoners" may impress upon you a grace and pose I have rarely seen in many noble courts.

Regards,
Purelord Drenten

Your words are noted, Sir Tyler Balloch.

It is with sadness but thankfulness that Dame Daralassia had never heard you speak it. She shed blood to help the lands Sevaria protects. I've come here and stayed to shed my blood for the lands Sevaria protects. And I will bleed here until my permanent death under Justicar Cygnis, or until the Deadlands are saved. Whichever comes first.

Perhaps you should place your faith more in the hands and hearts of your people than some wayward words someone wrote years ago. People will keep your lands safe and sound far better than a book. Might I remind you, your kingdom falls apart from within, with dogs snapping at one another to save the scraps of land you have left. Your tenants have not saved your kingdom - it falls to clan rule and closed borders. To the point where anyone, not just Galanthia, could swallow you whole.

The kingdom of Eire stands as one kingdom. One kingdom with many Bastions. Many outposts..and far more allies than you could possibly imagine, that will come from -throughout- the mists. You could and should learn from this. That a loyalty of a people is far more important than your wayward words. Everywhere and Always indeed - might I remind you that lying goes against one of your own tennants. Right and Good against Injustice and Evil? Has many definitions. Hope that your lands never have to understand what that really means.

Oh.

And watch your tongue when you speak of matters you know nothing about. Next time you might find it rapidly removed.

This news comes with such disappointment. This is a sad day. Remember, that which does not bend will break.

Balloch:

I hold no titles, and claim no lands, but I would rather serve one like Queen Beah, Purelord Drenten, Ria Sevaria, Justicar Cygnus, Paladin Crowe, or any of their squires than someone with the hubris you've shown with a single proclamation. Before you have the gall to speak of things of which you seem to find beneath your station, duty, or apparent self-aggrandized pay grade, I invite you to live up to whatever oaths you swore before demeaning those sworn by others.

The tenants I grew up with speak of what honor demands for the people: loyalty, leadership, honesty, wisdom, temperance, justice, community, and hospitality. I will send you a copy if you like, so you may learn the manners and humility I foolishly assumed would have been taught to you before you were ever handed a sword or a title. The symbols of noble office must be re-earned every day, with every action.

Today, you have failed.

Phedre Shanshi

Ill words for a dark time.

It is not my place to question the judgment of the Ordo, yet I wish to put forth my deepest gratitude for the great kindness Ulthoc Crownsmith has done for my displaced people in his barony.

I implore you, Ulthoc: let this not sway you from your honorable path. I bid you to attend the festival in Two Towers with myself and my lady liege. There are far more important things to discuss than titles. We have a kingdom to hold together.

No matter the price.

Respectfully,
Dame Vacht Silverfang
Loyal Knight of Falkirk

I find your declaration of "cowering around earth circles" funny. Using the earth circles as protection and rally points to help and aid many many people is not cowering. A better example of cowering would be what you are doing Paladin.... Sitting behind the walls of Cil Cilurion, While your lands are ravished, while your duchies defect from the Kingdom. While Strong Nobles and Knights and heroes of your land fight to save every refugee trapped behind the lines, or fight to take back their lands, or fight to do what is right for their people. And yet you sit behind a wall pointing fingers.... I have heard nothing of a noble of Cil Cilurion riding out to help or lend aid in the contested lands, or riding out to Evorra to aid Duke Logan against the galanthians or vaccarans, or riding out to Brittington when they first came under attack a few months back, or riding out to help Falkirk when Dame Vacht was getting citizens to the borders of Blythedale while being overrun...What happen to making war against evil without cessation?
How smug to sit behind a wall and cast judgement, punishment, and how hypocritical to then make your statement of ridicule to Ria Sevaria. Your actions are truly sad and disgraceful.

Commander Ithica of Under-block Eminence

I don't want to be rude, there seems to be a lot of angry here and I don't know a lot of you, but why is everyone defending the woman who admitted to torture and murder? Perhaps such a one should not be instructing a Paladin on matters of valor and honor. I'd probably be a little rude in my response if a fairy-magic user tried to tell me that I'm doing my rituals of cleansing wrong.

Sir Balloch,

Words are wind. The strength of my people and my land prevail. Careful, sir knight: your land bond is only worth the loyalty of those who you serve.

I look forward to meeting you in a month's time.

- Sevaria of Goshawk
of the Deadlands

Sir Paladin,

I hope you realize how bad an idea it was to insult da people of da Deadlands when so many of her champions gonna be at your front door.

Dis gonna be a good party. I hope you gonna be dere.

Angrag, Warlord of da Skulltaker Clan

Citizens and Nobles of the Harvestlands of Eire,

Please keep your calm in this matter, I'm sure the good Paladin is merely over burdened with the duties he has been presented and is speaking rashly due to that. I would hope that we can achieve an understanding with one another so that breeches of etiquette do not become anything more substantial.

In Trust,
Paladin Victarion Crowe
Harvestlands of Eire

After witnessing first hand the battle strength and doggedness of the Ashbury people, I thought my time defending it would be very long indeed. But if the leaders of the nation are so foolish as to remove the greatest leader I have met in these lands, then I believe it will be much sooner than I originally thought until Galanthia swallows Ashbury. As a true believer of Galantri's vision, I thank you. As a soldier, I consider your action today indefensible.

For the Empire,

My challenge stands. Accept or show yourself a coward. The choice is yours Sir Balloch

Amaranthus Landcharmer

Ulthoc knew what he was doin', and he knew the consequences. The nobles walk a damn hard road. I still believe deeply in the code, but I do not feel I should represent it as a noble because of situations exactly like this one. I could not bear to break a pledge to my liege, or to the people of the Kingdom of Icenia.

You do yourselves dishonor by bickering and casting insult. Especially from behind the veil of dreams. All of you. Temper yourselves and be calm. There is no need for this. You are secure in your respective ways. Isn't that enough?

And before anybody stars jumpin' down my throat I plan on giving this mist hopping thing a shot in the comic months. I plan to see a pledge through for a dear friend to help save the land she loves so much. Because I love her as my own blood, and that's a fact.

Far as I'm concerned the matter should rest, and we should move on. I hope to join you all on the battlefield someday; fighting with the kind of passion you've put on display here.

For the righteous, and the lands we love.

In service,

Captain Flint Boulderback
-Commanding Officer of Ashbury Ducal forces in Corrheim

At least Ulthoc did something "worthy" of this removal. I was cut down, bleeding on the tavern floor, by Baron Harrison for yelling at someone. For this the colors of Nordenn were stripped from me. If Harrison had not met his final death later that night I would have said more at the time. Now I see this.

Warchief, there is ale waiting for you at my longhouse. Come. Let us speak of valiant deeds.
