Damage Aura "white glow"

Hey, Margaret, consider yourself slapped and colored.

I appreciate the feedback from everyone. I'll be trying another run when I can get to the fabric store. I would love to find a white fabric that has random-ish black and red streaks but I doubt I will be able to find such, so we'll see what I come up with. When I get another try I'll post it here and would appreciate more feedback.

Try a shirt made in 1986....

you could always get the white sock, get some cloth paint (not sure if they make them in pens), or permanet markers and draw them on. just a suggestion.

Most fabric stores also sell fabric markers in various colors. Shikar's fire sword and Ellie's ice sword are both made with a white base and painted with fabric markers.

Generally, when using fabric markers, if you want a more solid look, go with a second coating after the first one dries.

hmm... if you wanted more white on the blade, run several thing white lines weaving around the flame-things all over the blade, so that the only black is the background of the lettering and the inbetween of the strips of cloth

Officially:

Damage Aura weapons must have a white striking surface. The striking surface is defined as any part of the weapon with which a valid (non-waylay) hit may be scored. Placing non-white ornamentation on the striking surface is acceptable, as long as the white surface remains plainly visible from all angles. If the Damage Aura is spellcrafted then temporary measures may be taken (ie, strips of white tape), however the white must still be visible from all angles.

In order to avoid possible confusion, no weapon which does not have a Damage Aura may have white on the striking surface.

Curious... what about bows and crossbows?

Look! 2 cents!

If you want the black and red look, with a white "aura" as it were, change the lettering and flames to red, and find a sheer white nylon. Use that as your final weapon cover.

The short sword I used at the last event has a purple sock, with a black one with holes cut in it, and when it was magic, a white sock pulled over that.

That way, the whole striking surface is white, but the cover is sheer enough that you can see the other colors through it.

Bryan, your best bet for crazy white/black/red streakyness is mauling a zebra or going to Pacific Fabrics (we have them in WA, not sure if they're in OR) which has a crapton of fabric for quilting. Which means some craaaaaaaazy shtuff. There is one in Issaquah WA which has all kinds of NERO goodness, like fabric paint, fabric pens, fabric gluestuffs, etc.

I think it should be more white too. maybe make it all white, and outline the white letters of translator in a column of black flame. *shrug*
