Favorite Campy Series?

I don't know what "campy" means but these are the TV series I used to watch as a kid/young adult that i LOVED

Gilligan's Island
Brady Bunch
Batman
Adventures of Spin and Marty
Battlestar Gallactica original
Buck Rogers
MASH
I Love Lucy
Star Trek
Dukes of Hazzard
Superman
Beaty and the Beast
Hercules
(can't remember the name but this guy took his kids exploring and they got lost in the center of the earth or something where there were dinosaurs it was on saturday mornings after cartoons)
Wonder Woman
Incredible Hulk
Bionic Woman
Million Dollar Man
Starsky and Hutch

Those were some of my addicted to favorites that I had to watch every time they were on.

That would be Land of the Lost.

And Campy refers to a television series that usually didn't take itself too seriously, and was rather silly/exaggerated from the viewer's POV.

I.E. stopping a rampaging giant in Xena by pulling a ben franklin and electrocuting him.

But then again that show never did take itself 'too' seriously....Sam Raimi (Mr. Awesome) afterall.

The original was the best. The remake, although shot better, was teh suck.

NOT THE MAMA! hehehe i liked it too

good heavens no i didn't see the last episode what happened?

I looked it up and apparently...

SPOILER

...they cause the big extinction event that killed all the dinosaurs.

hehheeh remember the poster from when you were a kid that had dinosaurs smoking cigarettes and on the bottom it says "what really caused the extinction of dinosaurs...."

isn't that a cartoon?

OOH I LOVED Dragnet!!!

Original BSG
6 Million Dollar man
Bionic woman (original)
Original Invisible Man (or at least the 70's one)

Pritty sure there was a made for TV movie where the 6 million dollar man was to marry the bionic woman, but its all interupted by a plot to replace key goverment officals with andriods. How awesome is that.

I put Star Trek original series is the one i meant.I couldn't even BEGIN to tell you which episode is my fave!!!

1st. season captain christopher pike HE WAS HOT!

"Amok Time" stands out as a ST favorite. It's the one where Spock gets his "seven year itch" and has to go back to Vulcan to get laid....in a matter of speaking.

Another favorite is "A Piece of the Action", where an entire planet bases its culture on a book about the Earth gangsters of the 1920's that was carelessly left behind years ago by a a Federation ship. This episode is so loved by my uncle that he used the title as the name for a singing group he used to be in. He and I both love the bit where Kirk makes up the card game Phisbin (sp?) with totally nonsensical rules to distract the guards. Kirk then asks Spock to calculate the odds of a "Triple Phisbin" winning hand. Vulcans can't lie but Spock seemingly plays along with the line, "I have never calculated those odds, Captain."

"Trouble with Tribbles", "Mirror, Mirror"....the list goes on.

wow...i don't know the names of the episodes just the "jist" of the story...

i used to also like..

8 is enough
Jeffersons
Welcome Back Kotter

and the one with the black family living in queens or something and the one kid used to always say DY NO MITE

also silver spoons
Benson
Donnie and Marie Osmond show
Barbara mandrell and the Mandrell sisters
Hee Haw <can't believe i forgot this one

I got an oldie...

Dark Shadows

Think of it as a horror/mystery series with a soap opera flare.

Other campy/cheezy series.

The Munsters
Speed Racer
Monk
Scrubs
Some of the Friday 13th movies
An American Werewolf in Paris
Transylvania 3000
The Shaun of the Dead series
Young Frankenstine
Many Abbot and Costello vs. monster movies
One Stargate SG1 episode had a film group make a Stargate movie. They made a movie to poke fun of a show.

Jim

Dark Shadows YESSSS and there was another one ummm something Knight..vampire police guy they've recently remade it and of course the remake is a fraction of what the original was

That would be GOOD TIMES.

Hmmm.....we seem to be venturing away from campy with some of these.

someone told me campy meant "not to be taken seriously"

you can't honestly believe that Good Times was meant to be taken seriously
