I wish to address a crime committed last market day and ask for summary judgement from a Knight of Wayside if its in your power to do so. As this crime was committed by an adventurer during a market-day I would request that an adventuring Knight be the one to lay down punishment as she sees fit. While this matter could be handled privately, I feel the nature of the crime makes it so that it should be resolved for all to see and hopefully learn from.
Last market-day, a member of the adventuring group, Lifestorm was found to possibly be under the effects of an enslavement. As guild-master, the leader of that guild sought to enforce rules per our guild charter and assaulted the guild member in public to then administer the enslavement antidote. While this matter may seem cut and dry and no charges would normally be pressed the public nature of this assault, combined with the fact that the victim of the assault was a Knight of Briarpass, Sera Zanabanath, make it so that it is important that the matter be brought resolved as soon as possible so as to prevent a pattern of acceptability where assaulting the nobility of your lands is concerned.
I understand that Sera Zanabanath, as both the victim and a close friend of her attacker, should not be asked to rule on this matter so I turn to Sera Liddia Fallingstar, Lady of Mushroom Hollow, to execute summary judgement upon the attacker, myself. While I could easily plead the extenuating circumstance of a loved one and mystic wood elf enslaved, or the time sensitive nature of the issue, I feel it is important that the law, in this case you Sera Fallingstar, take this matter seriously and press upon you the burden of summary judgment. I should have reached out to a Noble to help, I acted rashly and without thought to how my actions might affect the nobility. In making this mistake I undermined Sera Zanabanath's ability to lead. No adventurer should ever take up arms against their nobles, even if they find themselves in a difficult situation. My mistake, though one made in the heat of the moment, should be punished.
I understand that by asking for summary judgement I submit myself to your interpretation of the law and that the consequence of my action can range from a fine to a public execution. I will accept my punishment without struggle or rancor towards you Sera Fallingstar, should you chose to accept my request. I only hope that others may learn from my mistakes, and that whatever punishment you chose to weight against me clears my conscience and reputation in the eyes of the law and of the adventuring community.
Finally, I ask that any friends or family that I have, who would seek to alter this punishment, pressure Sera Fallingstar on my behalf, or voice their displeasure with this situation, refrain from doing so and instead recognize that I make this choice of my own free will and help me clear my conscience and honor, as well as overcome any
Sera Fallingstar, please right my honor. May your justice be swift, blind, wise, and without mercy.
Kind Regards,
Sir Jehan Wyldweaver
