National Event 2012

I don't get it. regardless of who else uses it regularly or not, it would still make a neat place to hold a national event. a site is a site is a site with whatever amenities it has regardless of it's use to our own or other organizations. If it has capabilities to host a lot of people, plus offer more amenities than other sites, and is in a location favorable for a national event it should probably be considered.
 
I don't think anyone was actually arguing against it. Someone just said that if an Alliance chapter already uses the site (none of them do), another site might be better for sake of variety. Having played there several times at NERO Cincinnati events, it's a great campsite and should certainly be considered if the national event staff intends to hold the event in Ohio.

I think the topic at hand is the national event itself, though; not just this one campsite. Back on track?

There was a brief announcement in the Announcement sections.

Right now, the plot committee for the event is working hard at getting an initial vision together and setting up skype meetings for January. I dont' want to say too much or steal any of Gary Marvel's thunder (he's the head of National Plot for 2012).

We're also working on getting the National Event Logistics staff together. Matt Watkins (National Logistics Committee Head) and Kyle Spriggle (HQ Logistics Head) are starting the work on that.

As it's the middle of the Holiday season, I'm guessing things are going to be a bit slow until January.

Scott, thank you for stepping in.

Yes, Scott is correct. We have a number of volunteers from several different chapters on board. We'll be meeting up on Skype in January. After that we should be able to provide some teaser information for all of you.

Right now we're narrowing things down, and the plan is to assign specific tasks for the staff in January. After the holidays we'll be kicking it up a notch.

Can we get a transfer policy on items? I'm plot in my chapter and many of my restricted items have expired, and I'd like to know if it'd be worthwhile to gobbie LCO replacements before deciding which character to play (some characters are more fun to play without their normal "stuff" than others). Sooner is better, since the plot team wants character histories soon.

As it does not pertain to the plot of the event, neither myself nor anyone on the plot committee has any authority over the treasure/transfer policy.

However, we've seen nothing that would indicate the policy for this event will be any different from the policy for the last national event.

The previous GM posted that policy.

The current GM is welcome to post it again.

Not necessarily, but we appreciate your concern, and will certainly pass it along to the GM.
 
The policies will be posted shortly. No major overhauls just a slight tweak.
