New Star Trek Movie

There is one other huge reason to like star trek. Specifically the reason I like TNG.

A ($&*#(*#Y&! ton of them were voice actors for Gargoyles.

(And before I gain the unending trekkie hate, I WAS raised on TNG as well as TOS (Tasha Yar, Worf and Scottie, all the way.) and have watched both DS9 (stopped when they killed Jadzia..stupid..stupid people) and Voyager ...yeah girl power ;P )

DS9 was my favorite series because there were long term plots, character development over the seasons, and lots of political intrigue. Plus I think the actors overall were better than any other series.

TNG is close behind, because there were some great stories there that I can still recall years later (remember you young kids I saw these when they first aired). And Picard is still the best captain.

I tried watching Voyager for a while, but gave up on it. When I first heard the concept (starship stranded out in the middle of nowhere) I thought it would be great -- the crew would be disrepectful, and they'd become a rogue vessel... insetead these good guys acted like nothing was wrong.

Enterprise couldn't keep my attention either. It's like they lost their muse somewhere. By that time, Babylon 5 was on, blowing all the Star Treks away (in my opinion).

As long as you completely ignore season 5, B5 was the best sci-fi show ever.

Dude.

Ivanova = Baddass. LOVED her.

Hated the attempted replacement for her. Got really angry about that....reaaaaaally angry.

Was Season 5 the shadow wars?

No, that was 4. Basically, what happened was that while they were filming season 4, the studio said that they were not going to do season 5, so suddenly all the plot that had been saved for 5 got crushed into 4. This made season 4 great but then when the studio decided to do season 5 after all, they had to make up all new plots for it, even though the main "arc" was finished. So yeah, 5 was a letdown, especially when Ivanova left.

Firefly was good, but it was a mini-series for all intents and purposes. I'll reserve judgment on BSG until it ends, I've only seen the first season thus far and I'm impressed, even tho Boomer was replaced with a different minority type.

You know? I Have to say:

Dr. Horrible's Sing along blog is holy crap awesome. And campy.

But more awesome than camp.

The problem with B-5 season five is that they had to make it up from scratch. They thought they were being cancelled so they crammed all the important plot from seasons 4 and 5 into season 4. When they got the go-ahead for season 5 they said "Oh, I guess we'l have to write some more". I think I read somewhere that you can follow season 4 with the finale to 5 and it still makes sense.

I'd love to see an upgrade of B-5 in the gritty visual style of the current BSG. Current CGI technology would make the B-5 ships look awesome.

captain christopher pike was the HOTTEST star trek captain but he lasted only 1 episode thats sad...then kirky came and well...he's hot...and even cuter when he plays a gay beauty contest coordinator...but anyways...

as for Firefly...i'm confused...why did some die in the movie then they were alive again in the show?? but i gotta say i LOVED serenity/firefly....

has anyone seen the scifi movie IMMORTAL? its like computer animation/real people combined? REALLY WEIRD we watched it last night and as weird as it was we kept watching it because there were Egyptian things happening which I was digging but ...comments on Immortal?

ahhhhhhhhhh this makes more sense....like when spock died in the movie but was alive all through the series...rock on...its just that i didn't know about them and watched the movie first...i should have watched the tv episodes first :(

I loved that movie. The mixture of CGI and real people to show how far removed from humanity some had gone was interesting. The Egyptian gods showing up in a floating pyramid was great. The blue-haired girl was VERY easy on the eyes. ;)

she rocked!!! her style was SO AWESOME!!! when i was in the 8th grade and freshman year in high school i used to dye my hair blue and shave parts of my head and paint my face white with kabuki make up and put on blue eyemake upa nd blue lipstick and i was like HEY HUN its a SKINNY MEEE! heheheheh was way rad!!! the Horus thing was odd...but....ehh...

did the red hammerhead shark totally remind you of the way they built the bad guy for Krull???

Dax WAS a hottie ... but Kira with her wrinkled nose and her wonderful fight scenes ... Oh My!!!

So, of all the Star Trek women, who was the hottest?

Dax
Kira
Troi
Beverly Crusher
Janeway
Seven (of Nine)
B'Elanna
Kes
Nurse Chapel
Uhura
T'pol
Ensign Hoshi

For me, it's a hard-to-decide toss-up between Seven and Kes.

I'm still a Zial fan, even though she was only a minor character. As for your list, Major Kira definitely tops it.

Saw the clip for the new film before Quantum of Solace, and it got a good response from the crowd.

Major Kira definitely was the best, because she was sexy and intelligent, a winning combination. Seven of Nine was the best to look at though.
