Every now and then I think, "Wouldn't it be fun to play ____?" where the fill-in-the-blank is some sort of niche character concept.
I am curious. Have other people had niche character concepts they would like to share? Either have played or would like to play? Not necessarily joke characters, but actual characters that could be fun to play for a while (which could be a joke character if that is your thing), yet are not something one would commonly see played by a PC.

Some of my concepts I think would be fun to try are:
- A normal no-rez guy. I am talking about a farmer that just got into adventuring, who isn't special, but decided to pick up a sword and start swinging at some goblins (starting stats would be Fighter, OHE (or OHB), and the rest Craftsman: Farmer, then learn everything IG based on advice from "teachers"). Some chapters have the theme that "only special people can resurrect, and all adventurers are special, but not all NPCs" which basically means most NPCs don't go to the Earth Circle. This niche character would be one of those of the population that just will not resurrect, so he will be retired on his first "go rez" condition. I think it would be fun to find out how the character develops and how long the character would last before dying.
- A Mystic Wood Elf Couples Councilor / Psychiatrist. This would be an Artisan Alchemist that detests conflict and would "prescribe" mind-altering substances to folks to help with their relationship issues ... whether they want it or not. It would be mostly RP-based, but the Alchemy would keep the character combat-viable. This could also possible work with a Stone Elf except using Mind Powers instead of Alchemy, but that doesn't provide as much combat usefulness, requires high Character Level in addition to Racials, can't be slipped to people unknowingly, and would be even more heavily RP-based.
- A Barbarian Celestial Caster, punished by his people due to a previous transgression in his tribe and forced to learn and cast Celestial magic to disgrace him, therefore shunned by Barbarians. The outcast concept seems like it would be an interesting story and character development for a while, but I doubt I would be able to play it for more than 2 years. It could potentially work with other races, but Barbarian Celestial Caster is the most obvious to all races that he is not in his race's favor. I suppose a "declawed" Sarr could be a similar concept.
