October Favs

Lanna Rose

Fighter
Hey for thoses of us who couldn't make it let us know in detail what your favs were!! PLEASE!

I'll post some fav's soon but I wanted to let you know, to rest assured, from what I saw there will be plenty of Rom goodness waiting for your return. :)

1) All things Vansir. Patrick Von Raven back on this racial plot is the awesomesauce to top all other awesomesauce. Yes, Telokh is a Stone Elf, but his path has led him to live with barbars and I couldn't love it more. One mod this weekend allowed him to go where non-Vansir are killed on sight and even the greatest chieftains can be barred from entering. One of the greatest Vansir in history has even heard of him and respects his commitment. Can't wait for next season to follow the plotline that just started.

2) Meeting Jorunn/Jovunn(Kris) and Lath(Patrick) More Vansir and Stone Elves FTW

3) Mike Brenizer's crazy guy and Stone Elf mental abilities with Maria. This guy is really messed up and needs a lot more work.

4) Undead battle Saturday night, failing to block four consecutive hits for 10 Fear and calling resists on all of them. Hit me again, I've got more. Really felt Vansir since it was fear I was resisting.

5) Walking with Nordenn. Baron Ivan graciously released Telokh from Blythedale so he could help another barony in need and be closer to home in the Reclaim.

6) Trick resurrection with Ren. I haven't been here all.season so I had no idea that a spirit could be snatched away mid-rez. Not having performed a rez in ages didn't help matters. LOL

7) Using a mug to hide my face due to almost smiling. The culprits: Amelia as her Orc at breakfast and Ulthoc and Bjorn Saturday night after returning from Netherheim.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

just got home a bit ago. kinda to tired to post my favs, but rest assured it was a very good weekend. i had a blast. I will post some favs tomorrow

Damnit, I wish I could have stayed the whole weekend! But here are my favs from Friday and Saturday!

-Ren's stolen spirit leaving Luka to complete her Healer's Guild interview with tears running down her face. "What assets can you bring to the Guild?" "I always...take care...of...my friends." Man, I love me some good RP opportunities!

-Patrick, would you like a groupie? Because I will be your groupie for all this delicious Rom plot. Spirit Meet-ing with ZOMG SO MANY EFFIN' ROM on hand was a really awesome character-building moment for all involved, I think. Extraordinarily devoted Rom = win! (Also, huge-est kudos to Kevin for immediately convincing a new player to play a Rom! *XD "Welcome to Alli-HAEVSUMPLOT!")

-Despite the effect on my tummy oog, the crazy necromantic creatures popping from Luka and Ket's HANDS while IN A WARD to tool them down IN THEIR SLEEP was pretty effin' cool. The moment the rifting in happened, I remember thinking, "We are going to rez so hard right now." Thanks for saving our patoots, Simon and Zat! (And the other fighter? I couldn't see in the dark to save my life.)

-That said, hearing Zat's dilemma during that encounter was a really nice and meaty actor moment for me to watch. "What's going on?" "They're in a ward!" "Are they dead?!" "THEY'RE IN A WARD." "Can you heal them?" "THEY ARE IN A WARD. AAUUGGHH." Oh, deep Biata stress. +1 Delightful.

-Things that bring the lulz? Filling out Luka's Mage's Guild application. My brain out of game was screaming, "OHGODOHGOD, THIS SOUNDS SO BAD. THESE ARE THE WORST JOB APPLICATION ANSWERS I HAVE EVER SEEN. OH GOD, STAY IN CHARACTER. STAYINCHARACTER." Robb, I promise that I am not a deeply incompetent job-applier OOG *XD

-The fact that I told Megan to get in my car to come LARP with me and she DID. For those who don't know, this girl didn't have anything but the clothes on her back, and she just DID IT. I freaking love her.

-How freaking awesome was the huge undead orc battle-majig Friday night?! Talk about effin' atmospheric! 1 - Real fire. 2 - Delightful battle music. And awesome growly performances by the NPCs! Just absolutely epic.

-Ket, Ket, and Ket. Luka will always have fun when he is there. (And it brings the OOG benefit of a spooning friend while my real spooning friend is off being the tiniest barbar!)

-All things Healer's Guild. Luka finds herself spending more and more time in there, solely for the chatter.

I'm sure the end of the event was equally made of win! Unfortunately, I had to go sing a choir concert on Saturday night (Boo.) I'm going to miss you folks so hard this winter!!! But I'll be in Jersey next gather and at the November CT/NH dealieo, so I hope to see some of you again before the crazy-cold sets in. (Not gonna' lie, I am totally going to Ohio in the HARDEST OF WINTER if I can manage it. This game is crack, I tell you! CRACK!)

I had a great time at this event!

In no particular order here are my favorites:

1. Hanging with my friends Dave, Robb, Jinu, and Amanda. We even got to go to dinner. I don't get to see you guys enough!
2. The growing strength and cohesion of Blythedale. I really enjoy our growing team.
3. Rowen sweeping my kills. It was nuts to see how much treasure I have clearly been leaving on the ground since I don't search kills all that often.
4. Killing the Puppet Master! I guess IG Garathon is not sure if he is permanently dead, but OOG with the help of all those who came on that MOD I smoked that guy!
5. I KILLED A WEREWOLF! Certainly not without help, but I got the killing blow. That whole mod was very epic for me. Great use of build up with the blood trail and I loved the pain of the forest.
6. EXTREMELY late night nobles meeting. Sorry to all those who were imposed upon OOG for us to have the meeting. It was important. Also, thanks to the rest of the noble group OOG for letting me let out some of my concerns. I was "passionate" about how I felt and that's because I really want to keep working towards making this game even more outstanding than it already is.
7. Khorwyn's fey curse. Well played sir.
8. Robb's Sadar and the resultant Fomori encounter. The costume was awesome and then we had an outstanding roleplay encounter that ended in group honor combat. Special thanks to Ignatious for coming down at right the moment. We were in a little trouble.

See you guys next year!

In no real order...

1) Monster Camp- it was freezing but as always in any NPC camp I had a ton of OOG fun with some great people...

2) Being a creepy child for a mod... apparently i was a little creepier than i thought i was... lol... it was fun to take Meghan on her first encounter (EVER)...

3) coming out as a trick or treater dressed as a bunny... i got lots of treats and balls gave me a trick... i felt a little bad for the person that tasted the urine while working on identifying it...

4) Corwyn actually going off site and buying my NPC a real Pumpkin that he "carved" to protect her house... that my friend made it so awesome for me never had a PC go so far above and beyond for a random RP encounter...

5) the last undead orc mod --- OOG shenanigans before hand with mike, frank, and brad then an IG realization...
Brad- Aren't you a caster?
Me- Yeah
Brad- what level is earth blade?
me- 6... y???
Brad- can you cast it?
me- yeah (i was completely clueless)
Brad- so then you could give me a chaos blade when we go back in right
Me- Yeah actually I can... lol... actually I can give all 3 of you one...
I can't believe how clueless i was that I couldnt get what brad was getting at till he said it... fun times...

6) Playing a deaths head in the last battle... i would pop up get tooled down repeat... hey its wat happens when u cant turn or move on your own...

7) This was completely OOG but the Irony was just epic...
Emily dressed as Lady O comes up to me dressed as a Death Shard while Im smoking and says...
Emily--- Shard you shouldnt do that dont you know it will kill you?
Me--- Blink Blink Ummm I am dead... lol

8) in the kitchen again emily said something that i told her would make this post...
Emily- All I know is that it ended with **** so no... lol

I hope that everyone had fun...

SO MUCH LOVE for everyone. Especially my Vansir brothers/the new Nordenn/the Healer's Guild/señor Duffy for all of the fun.

Specifics!

-Delicious Vansir plot, homg. Vision-questing and Andara's apparition were delicious and it gave us all an opportunity for intense barbar psyche-ups (and collective heavy breathing/grunting). I can't wait for next season; I know things are going to get intense!
-As a sub-category to that, finally getting to talk to Sir Ulthoc about Jorunn's origins was some really fun roleplaying time on my part. I do so love playing the "sad barbar, almost cry" game.
-Oh, and Teloch's "HAIL AND WELL MET," which took me completely by surprise and pretty much made me poop myself/left me with some interesting bruises on my arms.
-"Don't you biata just kind of rub yourselves together to mate? You're birds, right?" Everyone's faces were beautiful when I dropped that nugget of dumb.
-SO MUCH TIME WITH THE HEALER'S GUILD. You guys are beautiful and welcoming and ohmyGod you are never going to get rid of me now.
-And getting paired up with Rowan? PERFECT PAIR. Battling is so much fun when you can work the tiny backpack/tall backpack angle/scream really loudly for healing arts angle.
-Luka's TERRIFYING SCREAM when she got fear'd. Why doesn't Maggie make those noises for me?
-Desperately trying to dance with the Rom. And failing.
-Discovering how ladies should refit their armor with Larien. Hilarious? yes. Sexy? only a little... maybe.
-Getting beaten up all weekend. Can't a lady take a nap on a really unsafe, open rock or accept help from a blood-sucking dryad that looks just a little like Old Gregg without getting knocked out?
-Spending so much time with Balls. Seriously, one of the highlights of my weekend. (And thank you, Duffy, for snuggling/spooning me in Maggie's absence! And rubbing my chaid!)
-"THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS."
-Sparring with EVERYONE EVAR. And hitting Simon in the head a million times.

Rom plot, the vision cup and the Mulenguro for starts. So much intersting stuff going on with the roms right now. The terkovich! (that was some great rp with chad on that)

Krista/Anya- always nice to have more familia around. You are a great addition to the familia.

Chad dead body giving Luka and I the marks on our hands causing us to have things come out of them while we slept and attacking us in our beds. Thought we were going to rez when saw the npcs enter the area with swords on head.

Grim, always fun!

Castlebur, man you are a good sport having to put up with our banter.

The whole to do with the person turning himself in for Jarrin's murder!

Healer's Guild! always fun.

Balls!

Luka!

surviving 2 unscaled mods!

More to come if have time later.

Kris,

I hope you're joking about bruises. If not, I'm REALLY sorry.

Props to the plot team. It was a really fun weekend.

Getting the chance to roll with Andros and Darken over the weekend. Managing to make it into the circle rope with just enough time to get the circle of power up and then Darken prisoning himself right behind us. Couldn't have planned it better.

Getting to see balls again. Raav kind of missed him.

huge thanks go out to Emily for sending out gorbe stuff. I really, really appreciated it.
Speaking of which, tooling down a random merchant and then K.Blow him for not handing over the mint. He should have known better.
Getting the opportunity to rp out my reaction to mint. Bjorn calling me cute and cuddly while I'm sitting in the corner ignoring the world.<3

Meeting new and interesting adventures. I met Bjorn at nationals but getting the chance to actually rp with him was nice. I also look forward to hanging with the new stone elf again in the healing guild

Having tons of help at Logistics always makes my favorites list. many thanks to Amanda, Dave, Brian, Dan, Jinu, Amy, and anyone else who stopped to help for a few minutes. A big thank you to Rich for finding the Guild's Light-Rope. I was panicking a little. It will be so nice next season when Amanda and I finish more of the Guild so we can lock props up ourselves.

- Not being in a Golem.
- Casting (and flawing, of coarse) a ritual for Grim Friday Night that was fun.
- PANCAKES.
- Getting to play Slough'Sluagh again, but this time with a more extreme costume. The role play with Aven and Lupi was fun. I thought we were going to throw down.
- Great Role Play and Combat in the woods with the Famorans.
- Paradoxically Cursing Khorwyn for insulting me. He was a good sport about it and certainly role played the curse.
- Dinner with my D&D crew. It was cold out but Amanda bought us matching hoodies and we all sat around bullshitting and poking fun at the Montrotians.
- Dan Aldi. Did I mention Dan Aldi? Dan Aldi. Saturday Logistics was a breeze.
- Burning the Mages' Guild stuff. Who knew you could unite so many peoples with toxic fire? We lit the whole thing by burning a NERO book.
- The Role-play with Ash Forest Re: the dragon orb. Baron Rorii and I got off on a bad foot when I first took over the Guild, so it was nice to be discussing things with that level of trust and concern with him.
- GOLEM! RUN! SOUTH! --the best plan ever.
- The spectacle before the Night Fight on Saturday with the Prince. It was pretty scary and amped me up for the coming battle.
- Saturday's Night fight was really fun. It was long, and there was just enough light to cast by. I blew almost my whole pyramid and I actually killed things!
- The Non-Mod to Evora with 6 of the most elite guys there. When we all rifted out, I looked at Rich and the guys going on the mod, each a specialist in a specific type of combat, and I said "Yikes, big-boy mod" Ashbury will never know how close we were to civil war.
- PANCAKES.
- Getting checked up on by the Royal Guild. Talk of Politics as it pertains to Magic with Coleen (yay!) and telling her of my plans to... (FOIG) >;)
- Roleplay with the Dark Elves (mostly Find'rth). He still swindles me with every deal we make, but I gotta let him think he's got the upper hand somehow.
- The Last Battle was ok. I always hate how we drive the enemy to the edge of the field and we sit there as they spawn from the same place not really giving them a chance to come out as a real "Wave".

I didn't really feel in danger at all this weekend. Not sure if the statting was lower than the APL or what. Then again, I didn't go on any mods and really only PCd for half the event. Had a blast though.

No apologies necessary! I think it's really funny, so don't feel bad. Or make it up to me in April by losing a few rounds of poker. ;)

I actually bruised someone once when I was in a play when I had to grab her quite forcefully. The bruises were exactly shaped like a hand print. Your comment brought back memories.

Telokh doesn't really gamble for coin, but maybe he can start.

Jorunn may not let him have a choice if she gets drunk enough. >:3

Oh, GOODNESS.

To quote Tyrn Ironmaw "He looks like you! He looks a LOT like you!" ;)

Well apparently I only previewed my favorites list instead of submitting it the first time, so let's give it another go and see if I'm bright enough to press the right button. Favorites List for October, in no particular order, Round Two...GO!

#1. "The Mod Which Shall Not Be Named." Detailed, right? I'm sure everyone has their own super-secret adventure, but wow. Just when you think you don't have a part to play in the bigger conflicts of Fortanis, you stealthily sneak up behind them.....and they floor you. I wish I could say more, but know I probably never will. I'm so glad late night, "Gloves Off" mods are back. Thank you, Plot Committee. Thank you so very, very much! :D
#2. The look on Rose (NPC's) face when I completed her fishbowl quest by giving her an actual, real pumpkin. This ranger goes above and beyond the call of duty!
#3. Getting cursed. Twice. Nothin' says lovin' like a Greater Fey Curse and a Gypsy Curse bickering over your brain space. I had an incredible time channeling my Middle School years in order to role-play Slough'Sluagh's "Curse of Self-Doubt," and would like to thank all of the characters (especially Grim, Andros, Garathon, and Leona) who did their best to salvage what was left of Khorwyn's failing bravado during its course. And once it was removed it was replaced by Ket's "Curse of Unwavering Confidence." I know I'm taking liberties with the name of the latter, but what a 180! New role-playing opportunities made for lessons learned, humility gained, and a gift received. Awesome. Truly awesome.
#4. Late night memory-scrambling role-play with Gwendara. Again, a whole new portion of the game was revealed to me, and all I had to do was let a Biata get her hands on me. Oooh. That sounded dirty.
#5. NPC's, NPC's, NPC's. My favorites included Amelia's "Breakfast Orc," Robb's "Slough'Sluagh," Bill's warrior powerhouse from Castle Idolan (spelling?), Patrick's bumbling warrior whose-name-I-forget, the three honor-bound Fomorians in the woods, and the always alluring Lady Oblivia.
#6. "Correcting" Find'rth. Hey, he had it coming to him, after calling me naive and stupid for no reason. ;)
#7. Getting to go out to dinner with my hometown (sorta) crew.
#8. Music! Two events in a row we've had tunes of epic ambiance, and I never want it to stop. Whoever had the idea to give us forboding and inspiring melodies as we played is my hero. +12 Awesome Points.
#9. The two Friday night "visitors" we had rift in within our Warded private room, on behalf of the Prince. Creepy, especially since they new personal information about both myself and Garathon when we arose to engage them.
#10. Honor combat by the creek. What an amazing and spontaneous opportunity for incredible role-playing and combat. Special thanks go to Collin for the role-play which led into the actual honor combat, and also to Brad, with whom I got to have an intense Boffer/Kenjitsu battle. Well fought, Shinobi.
#11. Oh snap! I broke my 10-point favorites rule! Seriously, though, it was awesome to have our original crew back together again for the season finale. Me, Robb, Amanda, Brian, and Jinu, all having a great time together.
#12. And last but not least, my throwing weapon mishap. Here I was, all excited to have finally learned and put build into Thrown Weapon, and during the Friday night battle with the torch and hay circle, I stumble upon a throwing weapon. I pick it up, and ask a nearby adventurer if they can use it. They replied, "Nope!" and with glee, I said, "Well I can!" and proceeded to fling it directly at Mike Brenizer. Or should I say, Mike Brenizer's mouth. Which had a set of orc tusks in it. Sorry Mike! Thanks for being such a good sport. :)

That's all for now. I've had a wonderful season, and can't wait to see everyone next year. I wish everyone safe and warm winters, and delightful holidays of your choosing. Take care, and see you all in April! :D

Folks thanks for an amazing year. I am sincerely lucky to have made the friends I have had and shared this awesome fantasy world we create for one another. This favorite list is as much for the year as it is for the event.

1. Loken and raavna again! though we werent able to "get the band back together" to play it was awesome and i love seeing how we have all changed.
2. The BOYS IN BLUE! ( and Aven and Lorien) Blythedales been a blast to rp with you guys and develope the team. Deffinately taking Grim in directions i never thought
3. Being woken up at 3 am by ward crashers... i was more afraid of having to get up and being cold then death but i love how it was done.
4. Roleplaying with Mike stabley
5. getting to rp finally with mike engler a huge blast.
6. the final wave battle. " we have come for the the traitor castlebur fizzlebeef", castlebur- " Oh ****"
7. Blythedale adopting grim's motto " We dont F*** around!"
8. Making more new friends and developing stories. Huge blast
9. Epic wins and epic fails.
10. Roleplaying with Khorwynn giving up a little secret and trying to balance the Grim everyone sees with the Grim ya only see if your "in" with him.

tons more but the meds are making my head wonky
