I met a bunch of cool people out at the National Event, and quite a few said to me "You know, I've been meaning to make it out to a West Coast game." So many people asked when we were having our next really big event that I forgot who they all were, so I thought that a big post would be the best way to get everyone the information they are looking for. My understanding is that for many chapters, the "Off Season" is the wintertime, while for Oregon and Seattle, summer is the 'off season.' In Seattle, we usually do our season opener/closer as a three day over President's Day weekend, and this next time is no different. I know that travel can be hard to put together, and the earlier you have the information, the better, so I thought an overview post now would be helpful, and more information will be forthcoming as the event gets closer. If you've got more questions, post them, and I'll get as much information out there as I can.
Date: February 18-21, 2011
Location: Millersylvania State Park, Washington
Millersylvania is about 10 minutes south of Olympia (the capitol, so there's plenty of shopping/hotels/etc) and about an hour from the Seattle-Tacoma international Airport. Half or more of our players come from or start in Seattle, so getting rides from the airport should be fairly easy.
Cost:
Pre-Pay and Pre-Reg: $72.50. Payment (mail a check or Paypal to allianceseattle@gmail.com) due by February 4, 2011
Pre-Reg only: $80. All Pre-reg's must be received by February 11, 2011. Pay this at the door.
Late or No Pre-Reg: $90. If you're coming from out of chapter, we still need your character card!
If you're coming from out of chapter and have a valid membership there, we won't charge you membership to play. However, Alliance Seattle does require a local membership to spend Seattle goblin stamps.
Site: Millersylvania State Park ELC Has 12 cabins for reserved for PCs (usually more than enough) that each sleep 8 on bunk beds, all of which have mattresses. (There are 6 more identical cabins for NPCs and modules.) Every cabin is heated, lit, and has electricity. There are real bathrooms on site with showers in the PC area, the NPC area, and near the Tavern. The Tavern is heated, lit, has electricity, and a full cafeteria style kitchen (a little smaller, but with more appliances than, the kitchen at the National Event) with all cookware, flatware, and utensils. Some buildings have ADA access. The site itself is enormous, with many trails, open areas, and even a large, lit barn for covered or nighttime modules.
Items: Alliance Seattle currently allows all Production items and Restricted magic items, as per the Alliance Bylaws. Production Items which cannot be created within the rules as defined in the Alliance Rulebook (Intoxicate Gas, Life potions, etc) or Magic Items that cannot be produced with Rituals available to PCs (immunities, non-standard effects, etc) won't be allowed in. Seattle accepts LCO magic items so long as they're creatable within the ritual system available to PCs, but reserves the right to limit quantities of rituals or items.
