This is boring...

I think it is just that the adventuring community is jaded and bent on crucifying people for their mistakes rather then helping them learn from them.

To those who are listening to this necromancers nonsense,
I'm not sure why everyone is discussing Veil and her honesty of repenting. The point still remains she was convicted of necromancy. Then marked as part of a punishment. An it is my understanding that this was to be a permanent mark. It would remind her of her mistake in hope to prevent her from committing this crime again. but she took it upon her self to have it remove for what reasons i do not know. either she thinks she no longer needs this reminder and she believes she is above the law or she doesn't want to be recognized as the necromancer that she is. On top of this she was convicted of consorting with undead. this is enough proof for me to no longer trust her and her attempt to repent. Insane or not she did commit her crimes and there for should be held accountable.NO PITY! No pity is given to her from me.

To Veil,
Go away. Give up magic. Die alone necromancer. Or come to the forest, it will take care of you!

She's 'urt a lot of people. People 'ave enough to deal wit', especially dhose dhat adventure. So dhey take tings out on dhose dhat are more obviously guilty. I say she look to make tings better in her own life first. Contribute to society, but nye as an adventurer. I tend to believe dhe bes' in people. Call me a bleedin' 'eart, but I yet pity dhe woman. She 'as no place 'ere. But she'll learn, I 'ave nye doubt. Dhere is nye a lesson dhat can be learned in deat' dhat can nye be learned in life.

Frey,
She has been convicted repeatedly of crimes in several lands and has a warrant for her arrest that is active. It does not speak well of her character that she has been given chance after chance and she has not sought help. I always give the benefit of the doubt but after her repeated mistakes one tends to wonder when enough is enough. In any case why entertain her; pity her, but leave her be.. she can only harm herself by making the same mistakes ....again. Eventually her price for her mistakes will cost too high and she will not return. Leave her be unless you are offering her help with her mental problems.

How I tire of being in here…

Oh, heh heh, the door seems to be open. The golden chain has fallen-apart. I wonder where the lock went.

Um, I dunno if anyone else caught that but, wasn't the skull on.... her head golden? Wasn't it just removed by Zat recently? Me thinks that it was more than just a simple "mark" ritual.

I would not be surprised if the Celestial Mark did damage to her mind. I know a celestial mark would do damage to mine considering how long she had it.

But she knew the risks, and was offered the chance to wait for a earth caster. She turned it down. If she really is "crazy" now, it is a madness born of her own actions. I have no pity for those who bring about their own demise.

I read the scroll and watched the casting. It was a normal Mark ritual. Her mind was broken before the ritual was upon her head.

Sun-

As much as I am loathe to correct you, the possibility does exist that the constant presence of ritual level celestial magic did, in fact, have an effect upon her mentally.

I do not offer this as an excuse for her actions, but merely wanted to point out that you are talking about something that you only know the half of.

I assure you, having just recently had the Celestial Glyph in my head removed with the return of the Merax, this most certainly did damage to her mind. I had felt the immense burden of the pain in my mind, the glyph would feed on this pain becoming stronger and causing more pain. Regardless, I did not turn from the path of the just. I did not myself give into this, allow it to splinter my mind and cause the Earth and my friends pain as well. This is merely another excuse in a long chain of excuses.

Hence my lack of pity. Also, glad to hear that has been removed Gwendara. None should have to go threw such pains. I know how you feel, and you are an example of strength under presure than few could ever possibly understand.

I thank you Amaranthus. You honor me with your words. I do nothing more than what is right, and I am glad to continue to do so.

Hee,

You speak such truths with your wise, wise words
But here you are so wrong.
Oh, the mark caused pain, such pain you cannot understand.
She's the only one who understood...
But it’s not an excuse.
I had fallen long before I was marked;
Can you blame someone with parents like mine?
Why not blame them?
And with my mark was hoping to rise again,
But now it’s down, down, down I go
With only myself and I
And since everyone has given up on me,
Well,
I don’t really care what happens now
But I plan on making the most
Of what little is left for me to enjoy
And then I’ll be gone far, far down or away
Maybe dead, or alive
I don’t know yet
But anything is better than this
Oh wise people, who have never,
Ever made a mistake in your lives,
Someday you’ll understand.

I have no doubt the Mark did to damage to her. My point was that she was broken before the Mark and it therefore has little significance. Everyone has made a mistake. The importance is to learn from them and to not make them again.

Too bed we can't just cast a prison on her, perform an extend battle magic rit, then permanence it and just stick her in a closet for the rest of time. If only....

Meh.

Easier to just open a portal to the graveyards and push her through.

See.

And I bet Gilwing said it would be useless.

I have made my share of mistakes in my life, of that have no doubt. It is through mistakes and learning from them that we actually become wise. Knowledge is bred from intelligence, wisdom is bred from experience. If I am so wise, it is only from the mistakes I have made or seen others make.

You truly think I cannot understand the pain the mark caused? That it is more than I would ever know? I suffered from a sentient celestial mark which grew in strength as it caused pain, grief or anger. Which in turn caused more potent pain, due to its very celetial nature. I think I know that pain more than you will ever accept.

We all have the ability to become more than our family lines, more than our heritage, and more than our upbringing. You speak as if no one ever had faith in you, no one ever believed you were on the road to redemption. It is often the words of our critics which ring clearest in our memories. I had faith in you. I had hope for you. I remember when we met; you and your guard dog. It was not that long ago. I saw the mark, I heard your story, and I had hope for you that you would become more than that one act. By your own words in your dreams, and your actions two moons ago I fear my faith may have been mistaken.
