Honored Glen'esh,
We have not formally met, of which I apologize and will rectify this at the earliest opportunity.
Respectfully, while your logical argument it sound, there are a few nuisances that need to be accounted for.
I have already quoted the law in this context before, and it is the full duty of Honored and Esteemed Sheriff York Winters to enforce that law. However, to ensure that it was not originally overlooked here it is again:
- 1) The aiding or creating of undead is illegal, and considered Necromancy, under the law of the Royal Crown of Gaden. This crime is punishable by a death including but not limited to Obliteration.
- 2) Furthermore, anyone who is an accomplice to those involved with the act of Necromancy is also subject to a punishment of death including but not limited to Obliteration.
- 3) Lastly, anyone that conspires to commit Necromancy is subject to a fine of 5 gold up to and including a single death.
- 4) Anyone involved in Perjury is subject to a 10 gold fine, plus any applicable accomplice charge to the original crime committed.
In the case of your logical analysis of an individual being subjected to a spell that harms the body, being under the immediate effect of foul magic does not in itself cause you to be in violation of the law. The person who channeled the foul magics did violate the law, not the recipient of the immediate effect.
Being turned into an undead is also illegal, and the caster has committed necromancy. Furthermore, I am sure you agree that all undead are an abomination to the natural order. According to the law of the crown, anyone who aids an undead (greater or lesser) is committing necromancy.
With that said, this is merely my own cursory assessment of the law and I fully support the Honored and Esteemed Sheriff York Winters in the full interpretation, enforcement, and execution of the law of the crown. Any efforts to impede or supersede the issued arrest warrant, by those without the legal authority to do so, will be seen as an act of perjury or treason as interpreted by the Honored and Esteemed Sheriff York Winters.
If you have any questions on my assessment of the situation, I encourage you to reach out to me privately.
May the Light guide you and may Shadow guard your path.
