PC talk. March 22nd 2019

Hello Players!

This coming weekend the adventures will be tasked with reclaiming the lost town of Steepfall. Please see the in-game post here.

Players are able to stow and set up their out of game gear only in cabins before lay on however no IG items should be brought save what you can carry in with you. There will be opportunities later on to use the Waymaker stones to bring more IG items to town.

Game will layon at 9pm. You will meet the NPC mentioned in the IG Post and will come into game at the Waymaker Stone in town. There will not be a normal PC talk so please submit any questions you may have here or on our Discord server.

Please review some of our new policies that have posted. They address Chaos damage, the Logistics day switch, Crafting kits, and very importantly our new policy on LCO uses of Craftsman (Type) Skill.

Find the policy changes here along with the Craftsman Packet.

We are still running the 2.0 Alliance rules. Please make certain you have familiarize yourself with them. You’ll find the rule packet here.

If you haven’t seen it yet we now have our own Discord server! Please join us there as we talk larp and other good times. Many players and staff are on during the days to help answer questions about anything including builds, rules, costuming, even in-game conversations.

Find the Discord server here.

This info will be printed and made available with any other event info at check in as well.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Questions:
  1. Do we need to phys-rep everything we're bringing into town (i.e. if someone wants to bring in a supply of extra weapon tags, do they need to have reps for each item or is carrying a large box sufficient)?
  2. Do we need to pre-stage IG items we might want to bring into the town later (will there be any limits on what we can bring in later)?
  3. Can we assume that any items that we want to bring in later are secured in Valbrough until we have the opportunity to bring them to Steepfall?
  4. If Players have a crafting Workshop in Valbrough can they make use of it at initial Logistics even though we won't be in that town for the weekend?
Looking forward to the Event, can't wait to see everyone.

Matt

I have a question about cabins. Most of us usually decorate out cabins. I know we're in a different location, but will we be allowed to decorate the cabins before the event, despite our characters not being there?

Thanks!
TC

1.) A box is sufficient.
2/3.) As a rule you never get to go out of game and bring items back into game. For example keeping stuff in your car, and then going to get it mid game is against the rules. We'll allow you to keep stuff in Valbrough (only Valbrough). If you want to leave stuff in Valbrough, please bring it to npc camp with a note about where it's being left. If you intend to leave it protected, also please ensure you expend any protectives such as a ward or spell crafted circle in front of a marshal so it can be noted on the card. If you're storing it in a guild, lots of people are invested in those circles so keep that in mind. Your items are "in game", and subject to thievery by both pcs and npcs.
4). Players are welcome to take a stone back to Valbrough (or wherever) and use their workshops. If the workshops are a far distance from a stone, we expect that time be repped.

I also want to note. We encourage you to both, setup your cabins and drop all of your out of game stuff off in cabins ahead of time. We have a lot of great cabin reps, and we don't want to discourage folks from setting up nice cabins.

As you may know, my character works at the Dragon Hoard. We make our living off of having a spot to sell various trinkets, gear, and thingamajig‘s to anyone who comes in to the tavern. When I saw this post, and realized we would have to bring only what we could carry with us, my friend and I had one thought and one thought only...

… This is going to be freaking amazing!

This is such a unique and interesting challenge for us to overcome. We have always, ALWAYS, relied on having a spot to leave our gear. Forcing us to schlep all of this gear around with us really excites us at the Dragon Hoard, we look forward to this challenge.

Just to be clear to everyone, the Dragon Hoard will still be running during this event, as will the “Dragon’s Den”, the gambling and gaming division of the Hoard hosted by yours truly. I look forward to seeing you all there!

In the real world I will soon be starting a job as a dealer in a casino. The point being I’m going to a school for gaming, and now know other games to run as well. See you there!

Something that I usually don't feel is important to highlight at an in-person PC Talk is a reminder that because I sell stuff for IG money, that makes most things theft-able. If I leave stuff out, feel free to get sticky with your fingers. Less of an opportunity for this game, but something I feel has been previously overlooked or ambiguous. Rogue Marshall as per usual please. :)
