Allies in the Final Confrontation - Assulting the Locations

I've updated the above. Still groups needed to be allocated, and more importantly, we'll need to make sure certain people can request their aid who have had dealings with them in the past. I'm still waiting to hear from Errick and Roderick once their memories of their location scouting returns, and I've yet to hear back from Jamina.

The Sarr and Ogres of the Grasslands can probably be reallocated to a different location, I think. Both are formidable forces in combat, and it seems unwise to send them both to the second weakest of the locations when we still have higher-tier locations to deal with. And of course, the two races can be sent to different places.

I would suggest having Fern send the Vanguard to where the then-Prince Talon was recovered. Not only will their strength be needed there, but I think standing their ground in the very spot their King was rescued from will be very motivating.

Other allies to add to the list include Sir Thaylen (skilled with weapons from front and behind), Sir Durthang (skilled with sword/shield and earth magic), and Sir Varen (skilled with sword/shield and earth magic). I have another ally that I'm considering reaching out to, but I'm still mulling it over. I'll do some more thinking and see if I can come up with anyone else.

The Vanguard Forces are easily split into two main groups:

A Company of Veteran Regulars roughly 3 combat platoons and 1 support platoon plus command units:

A strong group, Duke Idden and I have trained and fought with these veterans for a few years. They will get just about any reasonable military operation accomplished. They are capable of some limited special actions but are better suited to standard military applications.

2 squads of Vanguard specialists. These are the elite soldiers whom I have worked with personally for several years. It's been my honor and privilege to lead these soldiers into battle. Properly equipped, they are the fighting equivalent as a unit to any of the adventuring guilds of Gaden in terms of skill set and flexibility.

All of these soldiers volunteered without request knowing the stakes. Not one will flinch.

The groups can be merged or divided depending on what you all decide. If Asher and My Lord agree, we will go where Gandian suggests.

Any other request, allocation thoughts? Also, we'll need people to specifically request their aid again and direct their assault. A few areas we could send forces to still. I'm also not certain what would be ideal against Eldrich Force and Curses.

Lord Asher,

Where would you like me to go? I'm willing to lead an attack force and assult a location.

Sergeant,

How about to the location of Kunari's remains. That may be a good place for someone dealing in range assaults.

Asher

GRONK can go round up High Ogres from da Grasslands. Now dat we got da Eye of da Storm back, might be able ta get da tribes ta work togedder pretty good. I don't know anyone ta talk to wit da Sarrs. I don't know if you wanna send da Sarrs and Ogres to da same place. Da Sarrs out dere probly ain't above usin' Chaos ta get tings done, so maybe you want da High Ogres ta keep an eye on 'em, but like you don't wanna send guys in dat don't trust each udder.

I trust you guys ta pick da best place ta send us, you know how Ogres do. We got good Celestial shamans in da Auerie and good Eart' shamans in da Erudan and dere ain't better warriors anywhere else. We prolly ain't got as many guys as some of da udder troops but we'll fight to da last guy if we gotta.

GRONK

Sounds good my Lord. Give me a list of names on who to take, and I'll make sure we get it done.

I'm checking up on how many on the Sett will be able to join the fight, and also will be asking the Broker's Guild about bringing a few extra supplies to help out one of our assault groups. I'll update when I have more information.

Asher, I can talk to the Selunari caravans. Many of them keep raiding parties to use against the corrupt. Tell me where they need to g. I'd like to assault the location we rescued King Talon as I was there for that, but it sounds like Fern's Bonded Guardsman have that one covered. Tell me what you need.

The creature known as Ishkavaim has returned to the river and the Merrow. He has taken up his true name, Charyb. The Merrow are stronger now, and are willing to help. Unfortunately they cannot travel far from the river or the water. Is there somewhere near the river that they may lend their strength?

Auspicious the Unicorn has used most of her power to allow us to search the Shade's castle and surrounding area. She cannot join in the direct assault on the Architect or any of the locations. She has promised to render what aid she can in our efforts.

-Baeleon

I can't say for certain about any rivers nearby most of the spots, but the Giant's Walk sits at a convergence of three major waterways, Baeleon. If there was any place where your Merrow allies might be able to assist, it would most likely be there.

Indeed, and with the way that they can transport folks, it might be ideal to have them surprise flank with a group of another force, say Vanguard or Gryphon Guard for instance. The Kendra's Fury could be used if the Merrow can transport more troops by transporting the ship instead. I believe that someone also has the plan's that Fern came up with at a feast contest for a cannon of sorts that could be fitted to the ship....

Agreed, Ill slot them for the Giants Walk as well as others by tomorrow night. Then we can begin to reach out and begin.

After journeying to ask, I can safely say we will not get any help from The Perfect Storm, so we can cross them off our list. Also, they are much more capable trap makers than I would have guessed. Also, regretfully, the Brokers Guild is already stretched too thin with the Vanguard and the Kingdom to bring any other contributions.

The entirety of the Wildkyn left of the Sett are ready to join us, though they are not as experienced in combat as many of the other we have assisting. Perhaps them and another of our smaller forces could deal with the protection node?

I also contacted some of the Sarr I usually trade with, and have a dozen of their warriors ready to assist one of our larger groups that needs the help. The rest I contacted were dealing with the constant attacks from the Corrupt. It's... bad.

None of the other groups of Wildkyn I have contacted would be large enough to make much of a difference.

Has anyone asked the Gelkk tribe we met in April if they could help? Or has heard from the Ogres? (I can ask them if nobody else has seen how battle ready they are, or if they're too busy with the Corrupt attacks)

Me will obviously speak to da Barbarians of Giants Walk but who will speak to Charis and da Ophidians?

-Ragnarok

Kendra's Fury lies near the one I found. Perhaps these water dwellers can help there.

I've spread out the remaining factions. We still need someone to ask:

- Dwarves
- Hoblings (Maybe the Frond team we dealt with)
- Stone Elves of Pratorak
- Orcs of Pratorak
- Roskaria

also if anyone has an idea of more, please speak. We'll need people to ask the groups not yet asked as well. I'm worried the Eldrich Force Node is not strong enough with the force we have so far.

Asher

So, it sounds like we don't have anyone contacting the Shademarch wolf pack yet- I'll go talk to them unless I hear otherwise from someone who has met with them before (I don't really know them at all, a kyn is probably better than someone else).

-Benjamin Bookworm

Benjamin,

I likely have the strongest connection with the Wolf tribe of Shademarch. Though it has been a while since I have had a chance to see them I had, and to my knowledge still have, an open invitation to visit from the Alpha and have spent many a day hunting alongside Beta. I doubt any outsider has a better connection with them.

I will seek them out and see if they can render any aid in this fight. When the Corrupt Unicorn was still alive it was they who hunted it, and their numbers dwindled as the valley was corrupted. Since reclaiming the valley and bringing new life to it the Wolf tribe has grown stronger in number but I cannot say if 5 years, long though they have felt, have been enough for them.

If they are able and willing to lend aid, they are hunters one and all. Finest of trackers and able to move unseen even in the bright of day. They would perhaps best be suited to providing the extra support of reconnaissance and whittling down enemy numbers for another force as they are not suited for open warfare, though I'm sure I could provide some quick and dirty techniques that will suit their style when fighting corrupt.
