Humans

Well, I have a Sarr, a Stone Elf, and 3 Scavvies for the heavy make-up. Dwarf and MWE are my easy-to-get-dressed characters, though they haven't been played yet...neither has one of the Scavvies. 7 characters, all classes represented. And me, fool that I am, I'm already designing at least one more. When will the alt-itis end ?!?!?

you'll run out of room for avatars!

His theory was that female dwarves do not exist. You admirably proved him wrong. :)

Well, female dwarves are rare, so the clan kind of gets upset when you go off adventuring and aren't at home making more dwarves...

glue on beard or string on?

He already ran out of room for avatars once. ;) Figured a way to get around that!

Liquid latex and acrylic hair. I only had to reapply the latex once, Sunday morning. It worked out pretty well!

yup i'm wanting a glue on goatee with a rather longer chin piece...i also want to do a scar over one eye and down one cheek....not sure how to do a scar yet...but i'll figure it out..with enough spirit gum anything can be accomplished!

Mehron makes a Scarring Liquid that pulls the skin and makes it shiny like a real scar. Or you can invest in a fairly realistic prosthetic if you would prefer something more standard.

Liquid latex is your friend! You can dip a cotton ball in the stuff and form it into the shape you wish. When it dries, it can be peeled off and used in the future with spirit gum. You can even put makeup on it and blend it to your skin.

One can get great effects with this technique. We're talking Phantom-of-the-Opera ugly.

And, apart from the ammonia smell, it's way too much fun! Just try not to go too crazy, or you'll end up looking like some horrible monstrosity. ;)

heheheheheh you guys are like a movie making crew!! I swear if i ever become rich and can afford to build my own Alliance camp and want to have a movie made i will hire all the alliance folks!

I hope one day I can own a house out in a realitvely remote patch of forested land that I can use to run a chapter out of... ^_^

Heh. Well, I know I'm not the only theater and FX junkie in Alliance. I'm sure you could get a good crew together.

Rigid Collodian, while effective, is horrible for the skin. I wrote up something on it in an earlier post on the Race forums (I think, might've been newbie questions), but you have to be real careful about its use.

Long-time usage dries out the skin horribly. I've left a small portion on my face for about 6 hours and had it near-glowing red (after removing it) for the next week.

It's also very unforgiving for flex, so any usage near joints or flexing portions of the skin (Near the jaw in particular), you want to put in bits here and there, not a constant line, otherwise it'll break apart and look real obvious when it starts to peel.

Moisturize before use.
Moisturize after use.

Rubs that lotion in the skin.

That would be sweet! And isn't there a rule somewhere that you can only post alts that exist?! :P

I have never posted as any character that doesn't exist. I will usually start posting as a new character just before the event when I plan on playing them.

Well, I hope my minimal knowledge will be put to use for the Alliance one day. I mean, heading back to school for Special Makeup Effects (and animatronics) needs to applied in the real world somewhere, right? I can't just have a basement workshop for making Halloween masks. ;)

To Saephis: Yeah, I know the side effects, I must have very tolerant skin.

You make halloween masks? And you don't have a scavvy?

No, no. :) Going back to school to learn that stuff. I can do it now with the little instruction I got in Theatre Makeup 101, but I'll be getting a degree in Special Makeup Effects once we get back to CONUS.

And I would have a scavanger, I just can't make my mind up on what kind I'd like playing more. I still have Cody the Raccoon Scavanger's creation sheet laying around here somewhere... but people would tell me I was copying Ender if I showed up now.

See this photo? I'm the raccoon in the lower right. :) A lone raccoon amid all those Sarr... oh my!
