I am a Count!

Re: I am a Knight!

Viruses can never be "cured", they just go into dormancy (immunity) within the host. Humans will always have Influenza, Chicken Pox and Cold viruses inside them once the virus is originally caught. When the body is assulted with a new version (mutation) of a previous virus, is when you are no longer immune and your body has to fight the new version.

Bacterial infections can, however, be cured.

Re: I am a Knight!

So what you're saying is I should name my gun "Antibiotic" and treat humanity like a bacterial infection?

Re: I am a Knight!

only if I'm lucky.

Now that he's gone we could perhaps make an offering to Nyarlathotep.

Or better yet, we sink RI and give the Deep Ones more space to live.

Re: I am a Knight!

well..my favorite charlton heston movie line is still when moses' stepbrother "baldy" tries to git with the woman that loves Moses...and he's all "ooh baby" and she's all "not in a million years your bald creep" and he's all "Moses isn't even Egyptian" and she's all "yeah he's exotic"....paraphrased by me of course...

another good baldy movie is WESTWORLD!!!! i love baldy

The look was good but the script was a piece of crap. I was please with the fact that the main character returned to earht at the end to find apes in charge, because that's what happens in the book. The Lincoln memorial dedicated to Tim Roth's chimp just made no sense though. How the hell did he get there?

If you haven't read the book, try it. It's very short and completely different from the movie. If they had made a good modern representation of the book I would have liked the remake so much better.

Re: I am a Knight!

the only thing that weirded me out was the almost kiss between two different species...for instance....in AVP when the alien has a scene where you think he's almost gonna kiss the girl???? totally wierd..and in POTA when the guy almost kisses the monkey woman i'm like Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ONLY because...lips on muzzle....weird feeling I"M GUESSING...although i'd let a chimp like kiss my cheek or something like i'd let a dog lick my cheek but it was more of a ....romantic feel in the movie..odd..

Re: I am a Knight!

Pierre Boule's original is an awesome read. Very quick, I got through it in less than a day. But in that one, the chimps have modern-day technology like planes and such.

Re: I am a Knight!

I was caught completely unaware by that. But the twist in the book (Don't Mention it here) is almost as neat as the ending of the orginal movie. The orignal movie hits home in more of a poitical commentary way though. The book feels like an Outer Limits or Twilight Zone twist.

Re: I am a Knight!

okay now i have to read the book..darnit!!! i have a huge stack of books i need to read already and now there's another one on it!
