December 26th, 417: A Thoughtful Gesture

A group of four Biata, led by a master Glixrin Suvox, have entered the town and have been staying with the Healer's guild. They offer their services to Malidor's Outpost in the form of healing and creating magical potions to consume on Outpost Missions. But their main purpose has been to help their colleague, Ivan Koval, who appears to no longer suffer under the effects of Phyre's markings nor the damage he inflicted into his mind. In fact, after a few days of treatment, Ivan seems to be back to his normal self.

January 8th, 418: The Blockade

Scouts from Malidor's Outpost have confirmed that the Barony of Litimore has placed a blockade on the western front. This blockade prevents all trade with Umbrasa and the Empire of Helios. Prince Malidor still has not received any reinforcements from the White Fang Mountains and many of the townsfolk are restless with worry. Nearly all communication from the west has been cut off. Many couriers have been forced to stay at the inn, and much of the Selunari in the area are worried about their kin in other areas. Though no one is starving, farmers in the area are preparing for the worst.

January 21st, 418: Dark News from Foreign Lands

Messenger pigeons have arrived in number with missives from foreign lands. But one bird has stood out to the town; a raven carrying a large black scroll has been spotted landing in Malidor's Outpost. What news the letter contains is anyone's guess, but Prince Malidor has made it known throughout the realm that anyone that brandishes the heraldry of the White Raven on a Black Field is to be escorted directly to the Prince under armed guard.

March 31st, 418: "The Cult of the Hearless"

Hagren Alesplitter, Quartermaster of the Outpost's Militia, has heard rumor of "earless goblins" in the area. Rumor has it these goblins have banded together under the banner of the one called "Silencio", and have caused much damage to the new farmers and farm steads in the area. Coupled with the Litimore Invasion looming on the western front, Prince Malidor has no choice but to offer a great reward for the destruction of this new goblin order.

April 14th, 418: The Restless Blight

Having returned to his former Biata self, Ivan Koval has sent forth militia scouts to report on the recent rumors of a Blight Mage. Investigations have revealed a large cancer on the local forests, mainly in the "Goblin Woods" and the Stonefell Glade. Locals are also reporting an Undead presence during the daytime, which is causing many to worry that the Vex Mortis' information is incorrect; that the undead menace is only a nightly occurance. Guildmaster Koval has been seen many nights, pacing in the tavern while discussing the matter with his friend, Master Healer Jeremiah Grenouille.

May 7th, 418: The Wedding of Lord Herod and Lady Thane

Word has spread throughout the land, that Lord Gaius Herod will be marrying his ward, Lady Gwenivere Thane of Litimore on July 14th, 418. This is an unexpected turn for the Empire, as Litimore has always been a contested vote in the Baronial council since the Lord Regent took over the empire. With the Litimore vote, the Lord Regent could be made Emperor. Likewise, this marriage will officially grant Lord Herod the title of Baron of Litimore, and all the benefits that title possesses.

May 17th, 418: The Emerald Falcons

A terrorist faction calling themselves "the Emerald Falcons", have reportedly dealt a major blow to the Imperial Army. Words have flooded the region that one of the major regiments of the Southern Imperial Battalion, stationed in the Barony of Walderlund, has been completely destroyed, to the man. Both slaves and soldiers within the camp have been brutally killed. Rumors claim that even the camp followers were dealt with harshly and killed as well. Not a single soul has survived. The only evidence left for officials to find was this symbol...

May 29th, 418: The Dwarven Caravan

Caravans from the White Fang mountains have been steady and consistent, bringing forth aid for the Outpost. Led by the cousin of Prince Malidor, Lord Rurik "Rory" Brightstone, the caravan brings much needed supplies to the frontier. Potions, Armor, Weapons, and much more can be seen for sale all over the outpost, not to mention crates being delivered to the barracks. Meanwhile, word from the caravan has it that Master Sorceress Selenis Lorestone, Keeper of the Inner Runes and Tender of the Written Memories, has been betrothed to Guild Master Thaddeus. Many wonder that if this rumor were to be true, what is in store for the Mage's Guild of the Outpost?

June 11th, 418: Word from the Front

As the skirmishes to the west of the Outpost region continue, word has returned to the settlement that the Litimore forces are no longer sending troops to fight, but battle-hardened slaves! These brainwashed thralls of Litimore fight with frenzied ability and have no love of the dwarves. Any attempt in capturing them results in dangerous suicide attempts or murderous escape attempts. This practice has led to the idea that the Outpost military will no longer be attempting to capture any more of these mind altered servants of the Empire.

July 14th, 418: A Litimore Massacre

The organization known as The Emerald Falcons have struck again, this time during the Wedding reception of Baron Gaius Herod and the Baroness Gwenivere Thane. Reports have been flooding all over the Empire, that this terrorist group have slain every noble in attendance, as well as all the servants, slaves, and guards within Baron Herod's estate of Thane Manor. If this is true, then these terrorist have not only committed mass murder, but have violated the ancient rite of hospitality. Reports also claim foreign involvement from the region known as Malidor's Outpost. What makes matters worse is that the Baroness Thane has gone missing, and many suspect her involvement and collaboration with the terrorist group. Troops from all over the Empire are being mobilized to march on Engelhiem and take full control of the barony to put an end to the terrorist group all together.

One thing is certain: Baron Herod, rightful ruler of the barony of Litimore, by lawful marriage and bonding, has officially declared war on the Dwarven lands belonging to Prince Malidor of the White Fang Mountains.

September 3rd, 418: The Battle of Malidor's Outpost

The forces of Litimore and Malidor's Outpost clashed in battle over the weekend. With the efforts of the Heroes of the Outpost, the forces of Litimore were pushed back, but at the deadly cost. Many Dwarven soldiers were slain in the efforts, and hundreds of innocent people lost their lives due to the conflict. The services of the Vex Mortis put the majority of the dead to rest through fire and cleansing, and the sky was filled with the smoke of their pyres. Still, Litimore took a heavy blow to its forces, losing over half their men and the Imperial Flagship, the Executioner, in the battle. Baron Gaius Herod has made it clear that while it may appear the Empire lost this day, the war is not over. And while the Imperial Army licks their wounds, it is reported that the Baron did rescue his beloved bride from the clutches of the evil dwarves of the White Fang Mountains. Rumors also indicate that Katherine Von Heisel, Baroness of Veldan, and her forces, had interfered with the battle, causing much political turmoil in her lands. What awaits the Baroness in the political arena is still to be determined.

September 17th, 418: The Refugees of Engelheim

With the rumors of the treason surrounding Baron Francis Duvok and his brother, Robert Dukov (aka the Emerald Falcon), the Imperial Army has occupied Engelheim. Many of the families loyal to the Duvok household, have been placed under arrest and are awaiting interrogation by the Crimson Inquisitors. A flood of refugees from the barony of Engelheim have entered the lands of Malidor's Outpost. Dozens of families escaping the Imperial Occupation of their once beloved barony, have come to look for a better life. Farmers and Artisans of all types are causing logistical issues within the Outpost. With the recent battle, supplies are running thin. What is in store for Prince Malidor and his people has yet to be decided.

October 7th, 418: Taking Back the Forest

Many of the locals in Malidor's Outpost have seen less undead than over the previous year. Much of the undead that has stumbled out of the forests has been met with choking vines and large bushes pulling the unliving beasts back into the forests. Likewise, many of the Stone Fell Glade Dryads have been reported coming to and from the forests to aid all the local refugees with their crops and extra food supplies. The Dryads have also set up their roots in the Western Outpost, now called Fort Alliance.

Prince Malidor and Lord Brightstone have been seen moving back and forth between the White Fang Mountainsm the Outpost, and Fort Alliance, bringing with them much needed supplies for the winter ahead. While not an easy solution, the Prince admits that the refugees and the citizens of the Outpost region will need to be on strict rations through the cold months of winter. Many of the refugees have expressed their delight, as the rations given are more food than they have seen in months under the current Litimore occupation of Engelheim.

October 13th, 418: Fort Alliance

After the great battle of Malidor's Outpost, a great prize was won by the Dwarves of the White Fang Mountains; the lucrative castle known as Fort Herod. Once home of the Ashen Maidens of Litimore, the Fort now rests in the capable hands of Prince Malidor and his regional magistrate, Lord Brightstone. The Dwarves of the White Fang Mountains have sent many caravans to repair the fort and winterize it for the coming months. Recent battle, and a very large explosion, has rendered the walls of the fort useless, leaving it but a small town nestled between the Venerable Mountains and the Great Black Water. Still, this defensible position is ideal for Malidor and his forces, and will be a constant reminder to Litimore who relinquished the fort due to many military blunders back in late August. What Prince Malidor and Lord Brightstone have planned for this new land is uncertain. One theory is that Robert Duvak take over the local magistrate duties, as the fort directly protects the refugees in the Emerald Hills. Or perhaps Prince Malidor will come back to the region and rule over the Outpost, while Lord Brightstone rules over Fort Alliance. Much will be discussed through out the winter months ahead.

November 13th, 418: The Death of Aurora Dawn
The Imperial Forces celebrated tonight at the capture and execution of the traitor, Aurora Dawn. Dawn was the leader of the traitorous faction "The Ashen Maidens", a group of mercenary knights that have allied themselves with the forces of Malidor's outpost. The traitor knight was caught outside the impenetrable walls of the Black Keep, where her and a handful of rebels were found spying on soldier movements and supply routes. Thanks to the investigation skills of the Crimson Inquisitors, the terrorists were dealt with harshly and brought to justice. Herod has this to say...

"Let it be known throughout the land, that rebellion and terrorism will never be tolerated in the boundaries of the Empire. Know that even the slightest transgression will result in harsh punishment. Let the deaths of these agitators be a reminder to those that would destroy the sanctity of human life in our beloved kingdom."

Aurora Dawn was executed in the city square along side 4 of the surviving Ashen Maidens captured by the Inquisitors. The attending crowd roared in applause as the bodies of the Ashen Maiden swung from rope behind Herod after his speech was given.

December 1st, 418: A Call from the North
The Freefolk of Isenhjem have been mysteriously vanishing from all over the Continent, making an exodus to their homeland of Isenhjem. When questioned, all they could say is that there is a call from the North that they must answer. None would explain the reason for such behavior, but families and friends have been left behind while these noble freefolk make their way to their ancestral home.

February 1, 419: An Intangible Tsunami Sweeps the Continent

A massive blast of magic erupted from Isenhjem’s mountains of Ice and Dawn, sending out a wave of dazzling color and sensation throughout the land. The ripples, described by some like the Northern Lights and by others as comet tails, also produced a ubiquitous feeling of disquiet.

Across the continent, beings have inexplicably changed. Some had their abilities altered, others jumped to another race entirely. Others still have vanished without a trace, while strangers arrive knowing no one and nothing about the world, as if they’d been sucked from another shard.

The Freefolke of Isenhjem now call themselves the "Oathsworn", and they exhibit small protrusions of stone from their faces.

Authorities are out in force to understand and quell the chaos left in the wake of these changes. The Crimson Inquisition assures citizens of the Empire that they are safe, and all is in hand. Tribesmen of Vuka, however, continue to spread unease, claiming that the magical storm is a portent of the end times.

We cannot know the full extent of the consequences of this unnatural event, but it would seem that the subtle fabric of the world has been forever altered.

October 17th, 419: The Krag has Fallen!

Battlefield reports are flooding in from all over the Barony of Litimore, stating that the nation of Dragonhold has laid siege to the Litimore Capital, the City Fortress of the Krag! Never in the 2000 year history of the massive fortress, has it fallen to any forces. But reports indicate that the dwarven forces led by Prince Malidor and the rebel leaders of the Ashen Maidens, took the city fortress in mere hours. Litimore Forces, bolstered by the First and Third encampments of the Western Imperial Army, suffered massive losses due to magical explosions and rituals cast beneath the fortress city. Not only that, but reports indicate that a large force came up from inside of the fortress to open the gate, allowing the Dwarven soldiers to enter without harassment.

Baron Gaius Herod has this to say, "The loss of life due to this massive strategic error weighs heavily on my shoulders. Commander Rupert Cunningham of the First Legion, and Commander Arnold Sinclair of the Third Legion were extremely close friends of mine, and to learn that these great leaders died in such a dishonorable fashion, only shows me that the Dwarves of Dragonhold and the Ashen Maiden filth must be dealt with at all cost. We will not allow them to take our beloved barony! We will not allow them to disrupt our precious way of life! We will crush them under our Imperial Boots and suffer not their filth to live!"

The baron has been placed under special guard and has sent word to the Commerce Guild for funding. Rumors speculate that the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Armies are on the move, with their sights set on Dragonhold.

November 29th, 419: The Winter Chill

Winter has set in for the Empire, with record snow and below freezing temperatures. The people suffer under the harsh conditions and many find themselves seeking the aid of others. Civil war still rages in the northern barony of Espar, and with the capital city of Litimore under enemy control, Imperial resources are stretched thin.

Enter the volunteer forces and aid from the Healers of the White Flame! The healers have been spotted in every city and town offering healing, medical supplies, food and shelter. The Healers come to each residence in each city and town to offer their support during these freezing times. Some speculate that they are being funded by the Commerce Guild, while others believe it in the Healer's nature to support those around them. Whatever the case may be, the people are getting through these harsh months with their aid.
