hey have you guys seen this yet?
Duke Frost said:I recently talked to Shane McComber about monster camp and how it seemed to also concentrate on the stereotypes pervasive in society about geeks, nerds and gamers. He brought up the point that people who are more traditionally successful didn't want to be in the movie for fear of it affecting their career. I can understand that. And it's sad. It's okay to run around in funny clothes all weekend chasing a little white ball with a stick, but don't dress up funny and chase your friends with a stick or you are labelled.
Such is our lot.

nothing will change that all the movie will do is people that are inclinde to do larping anyway will be more intrested in it.
Im not a drinker and watching drinking movies makes me think wow what lousers with no life and killing themselves with poison
so watching the drinkijng movies never convinces me to want to drink same same
the map of the kingdoms and people trying to take over lands and the castle they built for the days event was very nice
the dark elves were cool and the prices they paid for stuff the massive ammont of gold they had compared to the few coppers I will have was a bit sad

BUT overall the movie does little to help the hobby. It portrays the typical "loser nerd in mom's basement" stereotype. The single mom/ex stripper living in mom's basement does not make the rest of us look good.

But seriously, we should make our own documentary, put it on You Tube and our web page, and show us all in a good light.
Anyone here experienced in film production?

I agree with this, unfortunately LARP'ing doesnt quite fit in with the overall corporate culture that I work in either. Its one thing to play video games, its another altogether to dress up and run around the forest throwing bird seed at people.
