Staempunk LARP? Zombie LARP?

who's to say though? depending on the type of game Gary wants to run, he might include scientifically enhanced mutant things.

Can i make the recommendation that for all future usage the term "monster camp" or "monster desk" be referred to as "Zombie Camp" and "Zombie desk". It just helps set the mood. Its not like we have other monsters. I know it sounds trivial but sometimes its the little things :P :)

"Morgue" and "Embalmer's Table"

There could also be:

- Other survivors who wandered into our area and now want to challenge us for our resources/shelter
- wild animals

stuff like that.

I really like the latter idea because it's a very practical, realistic problem that would almost inevitably be encountered in an IRL zombie/mutagen outbreak. I'd almost like to see it taken a step further (as has been suggested with weapons) by implementing a degree of in-game scarcity of resources. Consider: PCs are limited to the supplies they can carry. Perhaps they only have a set amount of water in-game which must be rationed amongst "tribes" or the larger group of players, depending on how many there are.

Actually the idea of "tribes" situated amongst a camp – as in, small groups of PCs and maybe a few NPCs thrown in for plot reasons – could be an interesting element, ESPECIALLY if there were a competition for resources.

I really like this idea. I also really appreciate the initial idea of basing your character on one of your existing Alliance characters; it'd be neat to try and update them, see how they'd deal with the modern world, what their background would be, etc. Really cool idea from a roleplay and character development perspective.

I guess my question is: Would this Zombie LARP be an ongoing campaign or a one shot game?

And Players can't be Zombies... you would have a riot here in SLC if you enforced such a rule. Despite the Mormon culture, there is a giant horror/haunt scene here. People love... zombies. Weird I know!

I think it's been mentioned a few times it would initially be a one-shot with room to grow. :]

I can tell you now, if we do this, you wouldn't just be dealing with zombies. But you definitely will be dealing with at least zombies.

okay fair enough....

but i still think it should be called zombie camp and zombie desk... :P

as they do here.. if someone wanted to "riot" they could do so in NPC camp.. where they would get to play hundreds of zombies.. just not as PCs.. since zombies are (by alliance definition) mindless.

I'm gonna be honest... if no one liked Zombies.... this idea wouldn't have been very popular.

I'd be a little careful with the NPCs amongst you are not immune, because it'd start to get easy to figure out who they are (look at the PC pre-reg list, "ok, you're not on that list, so I deem you to be an NPC and therefore I do not trust you.")

I'd put my "plants" on the pre-reg list. That way you can't metagame so easily.

So it's "plants" vs. zombies?

I'm rooting for steampunk zombies now... with gears holding them together instead of sinewy remains of muscle tissue...

It's like the rotting victorian borg...
